ANTIQUE EARLY 20TH CENTURY FLAME MAHOGANY UPHOLSTERED EMPIRE SOFA GREEN CASTERS
Here is a delightful early 20th century mahogany empire style green upholstered sofa in very nice condition for it's age. This terrific sofa has beautiful flame mahogany veneer on both the serpentine top and the bottom front rail and stands on it's original casters. This sofa measures 84 inches or 7 feet long and stands 33 inches tall to the highest point on the top rail and 27 inches front to back. The seat height is 16 inches and the arm height 24 inches. The bench seat between the arms measures 63 inches long and 20 inches front to back. This lovely piece has an upholstered back as well so it could be floated in any room. It is certainly in nice enough to be used as in in a"comfortable house" and again. Is a great candidate for full restoration with minimal veneer repair and new upholstery. It has a few little places ... morein need of veneer repair and the upholstery though overall clean has some tiny spots of staining. I do my best to accurately represent it's appearance in my pictures. this large heavy sofa is sturdy and sits evenly on all four legs. They are marked Service Casters& Truck Co, The plates are about 6" by 6 1/2" They are about 8 1/4" from wheel to plate at the wheels themselves are 6" and 2" wide. They are at least 12-14 pounds each. One of them has a slight nick on the topside of the plate(3/4" or so) where it was grazed when getting cut off the machine.
