Up for your consideration is this RARE 1930's JOE E. PEPPER"JUNE BUG SPINNER" HEART SHAPE METAL LURE- ROME N.Y. This auction includes the J. E. Pepper"June Bug Spinner" heart shape metal lure carefully packaged for the winner. MARKINGS: The top of the lure is stamped: J. E. PEPPER ROME. N.Y. No other other markings found. Exact age of this particular lure is unknown but believed to be from the 1930's era. FISH SPINNER" LURE CONDITION: The lure body ... moremeasures aprox. 1-3/8" long. The total rig with double hook included is aprox. 6-3/8" long. This version is made from part NICKEL and part COPPER. It should be considered VERY RARE! Both sides should be considered in excellent condition considering the age. Again. The exact age is unknown but believed to be 1930's era. The heart shape spinner is the 2nd version made by Pepper. NO serious damage found in this sellers opinion. Note this version has the punched eyes! Lure has minimal soiling and looks as if it sat nearly it's entire life in the tackle box having never been used much! This lure was just recently recovered from a local estate. It is dual colored on the front, silver/gold and gold with orange stripes on the back. There is also a brass spiral ball on the front that looks very old to me. This is the way the rig was set up in the old tackle box I bought and I thought I'd just list them all together.
