These lasers use a Distributed Bragg Reflector structure to establish stable, single-frequency 1064 nm operation at 200 mW. They have an integral thermo-electric cooler(TEC) and thermistor within the butterfly package so that they can be stabilized to one MHz using high-quality TEC and laser power supplies. These were always operated on a cooled heat sink and were never run CW, only quasi-CW, so they have not been heavily stressed. If you look at the pictures you will see that they upgraded the diodes inside for more power and stability. IPG's laser diodes are good for 100,000 hours! Even though the output fiber is cut, there is plenty of excess fiber inside the unit for you to pull out and re-spice/connectorize to your application. The unit is being sold as is because I do not have the means to test the unit out. But it was removed from a active and working environment and was simply replaced when Lockheed upgraded their entire division. Good luck all bidders!
