Vintage Soligor Digital Spot Sensor light meter
This is a Vintage Soligor Digital Spot Sensor light meter. Measures one degree spot Has digital read out. Tells you the EV number that you then set on the barrel to get shutter and f stop. Its been stored for years. Put a battery in it and it seems to work like it should. I compared it to another meter. An incident one and the readings were the same. But I can't guarantee the accuracy. Cosmetically it is in very good condition. Some very light marks on one side of the body and nothing on the other side. Comes with case in very good shape too. The photo kind of looks like there might be a cut in the vinyl of the case. But its just a fold or crease. Has a Zone system scale taped to the barrel. Comes with a downloaded copy of the manual. I noticed in the manual that they talk about an IRE scale on this. But I don't see it. I haven't ... moreseen it on any Soligor on line either. Maybe there was a later model. This SHEPHERD DM-170 DIGITAL LIGHT METER is in excellent lightly used condition. Close to mint actually. It has a red LED readout and is capable of measuring both incident and reflected light. I have no instruction manual but none is really needed if you have a basic knowledge of photography. You set the film speed on the inner dial. Slide the dome on the front to the correct position to measure either incident or reflected light and push the button on the side to measure. There will be a number in the LED readout(between 0 and 20) which is the EV or exposure value. You then rotate the outer wheel so the orange arrow points to the orange number matching the EV. I have checked the meter in various lighting conditions and found it to read appropriately for low light and high light conditions. I have no way to check its absolute accuracy or calibrate it. But I think it probably works on a pretty simple principle and wou ld suffice for non-critical application. This meter is good mainly for indoor lighting applications. In bright sunlight it will saturate at 2000 FC.the max capability of the meter. It is in fairly good physical shape and comes with a 9v battery installed. The LunaSix is a dual function. Dual range hand-held ambient meter that functions in an extended range of illumination from very bright to very dim. It does not read flash. It works as a reflected or incident meter and functions equally well for film or digital applications for still photography or cinema applications. The yellow EV scale shifts between Low and Hight illuminations values using the same rocker switch that activates the meter function. The LunaSix may be adjusted manually to calibrate it’s metered value. Having lived it’s life inside the included leather case. This LunaSix is in fine cosmetic condition. There are, of course, signs ... morenormal use: various marks in the plastic case, etc. Functionally it performs as it did when it was purchased by it’s original owner. The leather case is in good condition as well. For power the LunaSix required a PX13 1.35V battery. The PX13. A Mercury cell, is no longer available due to the toxic nature of Mercury.
