This is a wonderful hand-crafted. Slab-built, LIDDED VESSEL by the well-known and respected potter LISA WATERS from the 1980's. It is a very contemporary design, a tall box in the form of a"T" glazed dark grey, with a chunk ripped out of the top revealing the interal construction, in red, orange and blue. This contemporary rugged construction design was very popular and typical of Lisa Waters' work in the 1980's. I purchased the vessel at a one-woman show at a respected gallery in Washington, D.C. in the mid-80's. This remarkable vessel is approximately 13.5 inches tall by 12 inches wide and 2.25 inches deep. I've used the heck out of this book. It's in good shape but there are a few pages where I highlighted sentences for research. I write outdoors and fishing books(since 1992) and this is a great resource. The spiral binding is still good. The front and back covers a bit worn but fine. Three maps in a folder are in excellent shape too. Three maps: White, Spring, North Fork, Sylamore and Blanchard included. Guide to Fishing Northern Arkansas, Western Tennessee, Southern Missouri, warm and cold water species. Loaded with great advice, tips, flies and so on. 125 pages. The first book I wrote, The Trout Fishing Sourcebook, 1992 and now the most recent books I wrote(49 Trout Streams of Southern Colorado, Univ of New Mexico Press; An Introduction to Flyfishing for Trout, Stonefly Press) all included research of this nature. Vintage Old Pal Lucky Waters Minnow Bucket- Lititz PA- Pascagoula Miss- 8 Qt Non
This is an Old Pal metal minnow bucket. On the one side there is a rectangular block with a fish at the bottom and a clover in the top left corner. It says in the shape: Lucky Waters Minnow Bucket. On the opposite side there is a picture of a fish and it reads: Old Pal Inc. Lititz. PA& Pascagoula, Miss. It has the inner strainer bucket that does lift out of the outer bucket. They both have a handle to carry them. It is marked: 8 Qt Non Floating. It is about 8 7/8" tall not including the handles and about 8 3/4" across the top. It has been used. The letters and designs are bright but look light. There is some rusting. I do not see any dents. The buyer will pay shipping according to their zip code and weight of the package. Roll is good, but spool ends are reversed- will need to flip it once you play so you can rewind(we did it by hand, what a pain! Edward Elzear"Zez" Confrey(April 3. 1895– November 22, 1971) was an composer and performer of piano music. His most noted works were"Kitten on the Keys. and"Dizzy Fingers. Life and career Confrey was born in. the youngest child of Thomas and Margaret Confrey. After he became a pianist and arranger for the QRS company. He also recorded for the AMPICO Company. Which made piano rolls for their reproducing player piano mechanisms, which were installed in pianos such as the Mason&Hamlin, ... moreand Chickering to name a few. His composition"Kitten on the Keys. released in 1921, became a. And he went on to compose many other pieces in the same genre. This piece was inspired by a cat at his grandmother's house that he discovered prancing up and down the piano keyboard. Dizzy Fingers" 1923) was Confrey's other biggest seller. After the 1920s he turned more and more toward composing for bands. He retired after but continued to compose occasionally until 1959. He died in after suffering for many years from. He left behind more than a hundred piano works. Miniature operas, and songs, plus numerous piano rolls, music publications, and recordings. All rolls have been played on our player piano- however. We didn't make notes and there are so many, that they are in varying degrees of condition. They are all playable, but you will find some minor edge frays, possible leader mends and a few edge mends in the batch. Boxes are in good to very poor condition- there are even a few sub boxes in the batch. But mostly original. A few of the rolls have NO boxes, but we'll try to point that out when we run across one.
