BAUSCH & LOMB STEREO ZOOM 7 MICROSCOPE & American Optical model 365 light source
This was my college microscope last used approximately 21 years ago. It has been in storage in my attic since then. The Microscope works but could use a good cleaning. The American Optical light source still works as well as can be seen in the pictures. There is no mount for the light on the transformer base- the light source fits directly onto the microscope. I'm also including the accessories that you see in the pictures: the Sepor sorter and approximately 100 aluminum slide trays. If you are curious. I used this microscope to pick benthic foraminifera out of core samples which I then transferred to slides. This sale is as is. This is a very nice Bausch& Lomb Stereo Zoom 4 Microscope from an estate in Green Valley. AZ. The previous owner was a machinist and probably used this for parts inspection. The phenolic base measures 12" x 15 3/4" x 5/8" The stereoscope head is mounted on an excellent stand that features nearly full articulation and a quick release lever that allows the scope to be lowered or raised without the use of the knobs. The light source is a fluorescent circline bulb that plugs into its power supply(Aristo) This bulb arrangement is removeable by unscrewing a retaining ring. It has a 5-step fixed magnification changer(0.6; 1; 1,6; 2,5; 4) and although t he base and stage is from a more current version of Zeiss microscopes than the head. All parts from the Zeiss SM I, II, 11 and IV are all 100% interchangeable. Cosmetically, this fine instrument may show the wear of years of use in a geochemistry lab, but it is in 100% working order. The optics are clear and sharp. The base/stage is outfitted for both reflected light and transmitted light. The unit has the twin single lights on either side with light on-off switching by twisting the lamp heads individually. The lighting power leads run through the swivel arms and then there is a 36 inch lead extension with a transformer adapter on the cord end for plugging into a two prong American standard receptacle for 120 Volts AC. The transformer adapter converts 120 VAC to 12 Volts AC 830 milliamps for the lamps. The swivel arms are on 18-1/2 inch centers and each swivel arm pivot has a knob for adjusting tightness of the arm. There is a number(312501-116) stamped under the base into the casting& is possibly the model number. It is the only part/model number on the entire microscope(that I can see) The stage has a few minor scratches but they do not interfere with viewing or performance(see picture of stage& picture of label on back) There are no other markings to indicate the optical power. Etc. It operates smoothly& focuses fine. It focuses by the knob on the side which moves the stage up& down. The stage raises& lowers fine& the left optical slides fine as well.
