I have no idea how to check these completely, but both units power up fine, and with switches set to"pH" and"STBY/TEST" they show about 12.5 on the scale. When switches are set to"pH" and"REF/ZERO" the needles move close to the 7 mark, and can be centered on that number by rotating the"Standardize" knob, so they seem to be OK, but are completely untested otherwise and sold"As Is" beyond what I've described. Switches all lock and release properly at each setting. Two probe arms included, one of them is complete and works correctly, the other is missing one of its springs and a section of the plastic that attaches to the base is broken off, but you should be able to make it usable with minimal effort.
