Micromanipulator: stepper motor driven in 1 micrometer steps
The micro-drive has a total step drive of 3 cm at 1 micron per step. And a precise rack-and-pinion drive(uncalibrated) of 8 cm. An electrode holder is attached. The drive dates from about 1980. The stepper motor is an 8 pin Phillips Motor number 9904-112 07101(supply voltage 5-12V DC) This is a very old motor. First produced around 1973 and I have been unable to locate a direct replacement. However, the micro drive housing(see diagram for dimensions) should easily fit any one of a number of new drives which are readily available, together with matching controllers at a fairly reasonable cost. I will include a copy of the original data sheet and drive circuit diagram. The original driver board is missing but a replacement is supplied. I am unable to check that this is working since I do have a suitable test set up. The buyer accepts that a ... morereplacement motor and/or driver may be required. These can easily be obtained via the internet. A 4-phase motor is situated in the top of the drive and an 8-wire drive cable(not supplied) is connected through a multi-pin connector below.
