This is a magnetic hot plate/stirrer. Made by VWR Scientific Products. Called the Dyla-Dual. It has a 6.28 inch diameter circular surface, it comes with one white magnetic stir stick. I still have the original box in which it will be shipped. It works perfectly on all speeds. I bought it new while in college for one semester 2001, since then I have been storing it. It truly is like brand new except for a couple of burns on the surface.

If I do then will include it,but these are available for a couple of quid on eBay anyhow. I used this for mixing my biodiesel methoxide mixture in the 5L glass beaker. Obviously- I didn't use the hot plate side of it. But this works too. I have now scaled up to larger quantities. So this is not required any longer. This is lab surplus. And untested. The only problems I am aware of are two knobs that are broken. But can still be easily turned(see photos) and a cosmetic scrape above the left adjustment knob. Other than that, the heater/stirrer is in very clean cosmetic condition. The photos include the part number of the switch with the broken shaft. I see that replacements are available for under $20 online. Installing a new switch is simple. As the connectors are the slip-on type, and the switch is held to the chassis with a single hex nut.
