WW2 German Helmet Liner Pins / Rivets (Marked IKA 40) for M-38 or M40 Helmet
You are bidding on a set of three steel split pins. Rivets, fasteners(or whatever you like to call them) for securing the steel liner band inside the German WWII steel helmet. These are originals. They are the early brass ones for the earlier M-38 or M-40 helmets. Not late-war M-42s with the flared rims(although I’m sure there were plenty of these left over and utilized for the early 42s prior to any field reconditioning or camo painting which would have then utilized later style pins. The manufacturer’s marking of IKA 40 is visible on the flats of the pins. You can see some of the original shiny apple-green paint under the second. Top coat of paint. I do not have the washers for these. So you’ll have to use your own, but the washers are not usually the problem and they don’t typically get trashed in the restoration process like the pins ... moredo. These are in good shape and. As you can see from the photos, the”bendy” parts of the pins are quite straight- not all bent and twisted, and ready to use in your restoration after stripping the paint on the heads and matching to your current helmet finish/paint job.
