This vintage 2 quart West Bend stoneware crock features a brown and yellow wooden fork and black measuring spoons on a white/eggshell stoneware background. The crock has a 7" diameter and is 5" tall not including the lid. The West Bend name and USA appear on the bottom. The crock comes with the original 8" Heat-Rite hot plate and plug. The crock and lid are in good to very good used condition with no cracks. Chips, or crazing. An elegant early 19th. Century Georgian silver plate on copper Samovar/ Hot water urn. The handles are beautifully ornate. Sitting on four ball feet. Attractive pattern on the tap. There is an internal heat retaining stem which makes the total weight quite substantial. Height 19 inches/ 48 cms. Weight 3.2 kg. There is quite a degree of overpolishing allowing the copper to show through. There is some wear& tear in the form of a few small dents which I am sure can be easily pushed out by a silversmith. Here is an original1860's Georgian silver plate SAMAVAR. The original separate piece that holds the kerosene to keep the water or tea hot is included and with the SAMAVAR. The unused wick is still in place and can be seen in the photos. The underside of this kerosene holder shows where it has been repaired long before it came down to the last two generations. This SAMAVAR is very decorative with shells and swirls. The four feet look like hoofs and above the feet are heads of men with a shell above the head. I have used this piece on many occasions in the past years. I set a small dish under the spicket to catch any drip. This Samovar has been in a clean dry storage for the last twenty years.
