Offered is a well preserved and rare item for the specialist fossil collector; a 2.3cm(tr. positive/negative pair of the Lower Ordovician Odontopleurid Selenopeltis buchi macropthalma(Kloucek 1916) From the Lower Llanvirn Series; Abereiddian Stage, Hope Shales of Hope, Shropshire. Complete except for the librigena(absent in 80% of specimens found) This fine example has exceptionally well preserved thoracic pleural spines. One clean repair through internal mould. The absence of a coarse prosopon on the pygidium suggests that Kloucek's subspecies S. b.macropthalma is represented. Matrix pieces approx. 6cm X 7cm X 2cm and 8cm X 6cm X 2cm.
