We all heard music in background while we talked in full duplex mode. Each Belt pack is powered by 6 AA batteries. AA Batteries are not included! The Base Station plugs into standard wall outlet. The only Negative issues are as follows: Ugghh. Forgot to take batteries out after last use. So while the unit was stored on shelf, some of batteries corroded. I had to clean and detail all of the belt pack battery compartment contacts. So all is working fine now! Beltpack#1) On one of the belt packs the power on/volume knob has broken off. Unit still works fine on Tx/Rx full duplex mode but it's just that you cannot turn on and off or raise volume easily because the knob has snapped off. If you know what your doing you could put on new knob or find a tech who can. Beltpack#5) I cannot get this belt pack to transmit but it works great as a listen only belt pack. Once again if you know what your doing you probally can fix the no transmit problem on this belt pack, So you have 5 belt pack that transmit and receive in the Full duplex mode to each other and back to the base stato
