Victorian BARCLAY& SON Hinks Duplex Copper Oil Lamp c/w Burner& Shade Ref: HS I am offering for auction a very nice hand beaten"drop-in" C op per Oil Lamp made by BARCLAY& SON of 138 Re gent Street. London. It comes complete with it's original HINKS Duplex Patent burner and dates from the late 19th Century Arts& Crafts period. The lamp comes with quite a nice cranberry shade and duplex chimney. The burner has a twist key lifting mechanism. Which enables the gallery to be raised above the wicks for lighting, without the need to remove the chimney etc. This particular example has concentric winder shafts which raise and lower the wicks and com es complete with both snuffers. Which are activated by a single lever. The burner is mechanically complete and in reasonable condition. The lift and snuffer mechanisms both ... morefunction. But are fairly stiff. The sn uffer springs are int act but need to be tightened slightly to ensure the snuffers close fully. The copper font has a brass bayonet fitting. Which is embossed with the mak er's name Barclay& Son. The burner has the usual Hinks Duplex markings on the winder and Hinks& Son Patent between the slots. There is some minor damage to the chimney fence but it does not interfere with the fitting of the chimney. Whilst there are a couple of minor dents and ding s in the copper mainly one side/ lower edge. They are not serious and do not detract greatly. see photos) The lamp c an be free standing or used as a"drop in" font. To sit in either a wall or floor standing lamp fitting. The diameter of the font excluding the lip is 5 3/ 4" 14.4 cms) and the lip is 1/4" 6mm) thick. T h e lamp comes with a nice dark c ranberry shade and duplex c himney. Just over 25 inches. Fount is approx 6 inches diameter, and base is 5&1/4 nches square. Cast brass base with a cast iron weight inside. With a marble plinth, then a cast brass plate and column base. You are bidding on: AN ANTIQUE 19th CENTURY DUPLEX OIL LAMP CHANDELIER CONVERTED TO POWER AN INCANDESCENT LIGHT BULB. Here's a BEAUTIFUL find from an estate purchase; this came from a very old household in central Kentucky. I discovered it packed away in a box in the basement; I saw the beautiful glass shade and the electrical cord chain. And assumed it to be a nice swag lamp. Since I never unpacked it fully from the box before putting it in my own storage space, it wasn't until a good time later when I got it out to hang it up in my shop that I realized it was actually a verrrrry old chandelier, which someone had very cleverly and craftily converted to an electric powered swag lamp. The pictures really just don't convey how big and substantial this fixture is. The glass shade itself is about one foot in diameter. And the entire ... morefixture measures over three feet tall from the ceiling plate down to the ornament on the bottom! It's quite heavy; the trim rings, ornamental balls, and the tulip at top are brass, but the three cherubs and the bottom cage are solid, and possibly bronze. The hobnail glass shade sits on top of the bottom ring, and the other trim ring sits around a lip on the top of the shade. The shade is a gorgeous cranberry/rose red color; I think the color is"flashed" on. when you examine it closely from the inside you can see a few places around the hobnail bumps where the color is not complete, and there are a couple small scratches inside the base at the bottom where you can see there is clear glass beneath. It is not really noticeable in situ, and I was able to clean the glass thoroughly with warm soap and water with no resulting loss in color at all; it is NOT goofus glass. I can discern four very faint seam lines. Which gives you some idea of the age of this piece. I have not made any attempt at all to clean any other portion of this fixture. So if you're the sort who has the patience to clean brass and bronze, you will uncover even more beauty at your leisure; I pref

Vintage NOS Uniline wall plates, ivory, 2-gang, for duplex receptacles
Vintage new old stock Uniline 2-gang wall plates. For standard duplex receptacles. These plates were made by Pass& Seymour, probably in the sixties, and are unused in the original packaging. The classic ribbed Uniline style was current from the early fifties up through the sixties, and remains a popular piece for mid-century home restorations. Although a popular piece at the time, larger plates are rarer because it was less common for there to be more than one device at a given location, particularly in residential buildings. These would make a great finishing touch to a mid-century home restoration, or a cool detail for a retro-themed office or store. Heck, I think they look neat anywhere! Vintage Pickett Slide Rule Model N-500-T Hi-Log log duplex all metal from the 1960s. I am selling what appears to be barely(looks like it may have never been) used Pickett All Metal Slide Rule model N-500-T Hi-Log aka Log Duplex. This model was made in the U.S.A and production started in 1963. This model was replaced by the N-515-T in 1969 so my guess is this one was made between 1963 and 1969. The slide rule moves freely. The curser is clear and the lettering is clean. There is no damage to the slide rule or case. What makes this Pickett Slide Rule so special is that it appears to have been barely(possibly never) used. The slide rules is clean and clear. The suede case shows no wear and the stenciling is clean. The case also has metal inside to protect the slide rule. 1930s DUPLEX Drums Catalog - RARE!
This is a very rare 1930s(my best guess) catalog put out by the Duplex Manufacturing Co. of St. Louis. Missouri on their line of Drums and Accessories. It is Catalog N. The catalog measures about 6" x 9" and is 36 pages plus covers. Most of the catalog is in excellent condition but I did notice 3 small picture cut-outs that I tried to show in the pictures. Still, it is a"next to impossible" to find vintage drum reference and collectible. Only one by this company we have had in 50 years of collecting.
