In other words. A worker would set this timer to operate another working system, such as in a factory, etc. This timer would automatically shut down or restart the system in operation. Also. Through the mid-gears we can see that there is a central key stud that may have operated"something else" like dials or gauges on a meter of some sort, or even an alarm or bell alert sound. This photo above shows the gears moving and the closer to the butterfly gear. The faster you see ... morethe cogs spinning because they are blurry. Beneath we see the on/ off neutral switch and I have left the electrical wiring in original positions throughout the piece. You also see the two wooden blocks bolted to the steel main plate. Here shows a nice close-up of the butterfly gear. This is the fastest moving object when the gears are running and you can feel the breeze and hear the sounds of the gears running which is calming. The gear box is amazing and inside one can see a lever with a lead weight on the end that would help the electromagnet throw switch function smoothly. Here are some nice close-ups of the workings. The flat wind spring shows no signs of fatigue. It is very powerful. Below is a close-up of the gears in operation. The butterfly is spinning so fast. You can also see the two copper coil magnets near the bottom. You may like this piece as is. Or you may wish to add some sort of brass or glass plate to fasten as a top cover or topper.
