This magnetic switch is located at the end of a small length of flexible conduit. High up on the mounting collar, fitted against the the side of the collar. This part is in excellent working order. This part only was used on OLDER batch feed KitchenAid disposers made by Hobart. If your disposer does not say Hobart on it, this part will not fit. It does NOT fit any newer KitchenAid disposers made by Whirlpool or ISE/ In-Sink-Erator. I have included the switch cover plate and bracket in case you need it. Grizzly Magnetic Switch -- 220 Volt Single-Phase (17-21A)
This switch is rated at 17 to 21 amps at 220 Volt for single-phase current and has timer capabilities. Grizzly sells a comparable item for $85 without a timer. FYI. There are wiring schematics inside the box. This magnetic switch was used for only a couple weeks and. To my knowledge, is in perfect working condition. Here's the backstory- It was shipped to me by Grizzly as a replacement for a magnetic switch on a large 3HP cyclone dust collector. I was having trouble with start capacitors blowing and the Grizzly technicians thought it might be a faulty switch. This new replacement switch didn't work any better as the machine would blow a capacitor nearly every time it turned on. The technicians then concluded that it was the actual motor that was having issues. It turns out that particular motor was causing trouble for other customers ... moreand there was some issue with it not being a good fit for the machine. Long story short. I decided to sell the dust collector to a guy who got the new revised Grizzly motor- the original magnetic switch worked just fine with the new motor. And so, I was left with this magnetic switch which was only used to start the machine a few times. It has sat unused in my closet for about 5 years. I will ship as soon as payment has been received via UPS Ground in a well-padded box.
