The motor is physically in excellent condition with only a few places where the paint has flecked off. The motor does have some shelf wear and a couple of scratches from being handled. Old lens in brass cell. Written on lens: Kollmorgen Optical Corp. Brooklyn. N.Y. Diameter of lens outside of the brass cell is 2.5" Focal length is approximately 9 inches. Thickness is approximately 0.7 inches. Front opening of brass cell is 2.4" Outer diameter of brass cell is 2.78" Length of smooth part of brass cell is 0.81 inches. Length of threaded area is approximately 0.3 inches. Diameter of threaded area is 2.68 inches. Diameter of threaded retaining ring is 2.55 inches. Cement(probably Canadian balsam) between the two elements is intact(no crazing or separation) Three pits on front surface. Largest is approximately 0.05 inches wide(about the size of the TIP of a ballpoint pen. Front surface has fine sleeks. You don't see them if you look directly at the surface or through the lens. You have to have bright light ... morereflect off the surface at an angle to see them. So I don't think the sleeks would affect performance in any way or be a problem cosmetically at a casual glance. Back surface is in very good condition. Feel free to ask any questions or request better photos if needed. I suspect this was an old vintage camera lens or perhaps a vintage projector lens. Could be used to make an interesting spotting scope. Finder scope, or very portable grab n go wide field telescope. I'll throw in a first surface mirror or some binocular prisms for free if you need them to construct a scope.
