Set Prostrednik 500 PK Czech Bohemia Lead Crystal Champagne Wine Goblets Stems
I purchased this boxed set of 6 goblets or stems at a moving sale. The middle aged lady that I purchased them from said that they had belonged to her father. I do not know how old they are. A little research tells me that they are probably from the Bohemian region of the Czech Republic. On the internet. I have read that the 500 PK design was invented by the famous glass cutter Ludvik Prostrednik(1897-1973) in the 1920's. I have not found another example of this set on the internet. The six glasses are apparently in their original box. Each goblet has three stickers labels on it. One sticker reads. 550 PK Hand Cut Lead Crystal. Made in Czech Republic” Another sticker reads, Prostrednik. Made in Czech Republic. The third sticker reads, Czech Republic 24% PbO” The label on the box reads, Prostrednik. Made in Czech Republic” A stamp on the ... morebottom of the box looks to me like an address. Above the probable address“Procrystal” can be read. You can see the stamp in one of my photos. Each goblet measures close to 7 1/8 inches high and weighs close to 7.4 ounces. They look to me like they are probably intended for champagne but it is easy to imagine drinking regular wine in them. The goblets are in excellent condition with no damage or signs of use. One of the“Prostrednik” stickers is partially(a little of the edge) detached from a goblet. Also. A tiny amount of an upper corner of one of the 500PK stickers is present but detached from another goblet. Otherwise, the stickers are fine. The box shows some wear along the edges and corners of the lid. The lid of the box has some areas of slight discoloration that look slightly gray. There is also a light scratch and a tiny worn white spot on the lid. There is a small amount of soil on the bottom of the box. Otherwise, My photos should give you a good idea of its general condition. I guarantee this set of 6 crystal stems to be as described and as represented by my photos. Up for bid is this old glass salt& pepper shaker combo. It is one piece. It has a patent dat of Feb. 5.07 on the bottom. I never seen anything like it. I believe this is lead glass because of the gray tint to the glass. It has some long mold lines and a couple tiny fleabites. This listing is for a full set of 6 each small. Heavy, Hand Cut(not molded) Lead Crystal 3-1/2” H X 2-3/4” wide X 1-5/16” Rim diameter stemmed mini Brandy snifter stems/glasses. Each has a balloon(wider at its waist then its rim diameter) shaped bowl that holds about 4-1/2 ounces when filled to its brim. They are shaped exactly like their larger Brandy Snifter cousins. Each miniature snifter is hand cut and decorated with an interlocking“X” design. In the center of each X are a checkerboard design and stippled triangles framing a star. On the top are round thumbprints with rays that resemble sunshine and on the bottom of the each bowl the waist is surrounded with elongated thumbprints cut into the crystal. This is a cut glass/lead crystal bowl from the brilliant period 1890-1910. It is American made. The cutting features 3 pinwheels alternating with triangle and fans cuttings. The center is a 12 point hobstar.This 6 lobed 3 footed crystal bowl is 10" wide. 5" high and 1/4" thick. This is a brilliant clear crystal bowl with plenty of shine. This would make the best collector proud to own.Referred to in period catalogs as a fernery. There are no chips or cracks on this item but the bottom of the feet have minor scratches from displaying.
