Ingersoll Rand 3/4 in IR261 -Torque Tested! 1200? Ft Pd! Air Impact Wrench
Up for sale is a Ingersoll Rand IR261. One of their best pistol type 3/4 inch impacts. Just about the industry standard for a affordable 3/4" inch impact I tightened the 2 inch torque tester nut a couple times to over 1200 ft pounds. Then loosened it. They list 1100 as the max torque for this model but they always seem to go higher on the scale than that. I tested this with 110 PSI at the wall, by the time it reaches the impact it maintains 90 PSI, or a hair higher. It is not all beat up either! Sure it has some scratches and wear, but for one of these it looks pretty good. See the pictures for the cosmetic condition. It has the ring style socket retainer. There is no guesswork here. I use a Skidmore Wilhelm Torque tester. The industry standard. Up for sale is a Florida Pneumatic FP794L. Good, solid long anvil impact. Someone changed it to a 3/4 as I guess that is what sockets they had. It is a very neat job. This impact wants more air than I can give it, Designed for a 1/2 NPT fitting and a 5/8 or 3/4 hose. My 1/2 in hose with 3/8 NPT fitting didn't give it full power. I got 1000 ft pounds out of it. These are not torque monsters but will beat any 1/2 in drive impact on larger bolts all day and last ten or 20 times as long as they are made for the heavy labor. Up for sale is a Chicago Pneumatic 3/4 inch drive impact wrench. CP772. It has a show of use and performs well. It is tested to remove bolts torqued to 1000 ft pounds. It had no trouble with those. tightens them to that torque too. It just takes longer. These are in my opinion by far the best 3/4 in drive impact for use with a 3/8 hose. They are designed for it. Most 3/4 in impacts lose about 2 to 300 ft pounds when used with a 3/8 hose. This will perform better with a 1/2 in hose but does fine with the 3/8!
