Scubapro DCAR Valve Depth Compensating Adjustable Reserve Integral Tank Pressure Gauge Rebuilt. In Good Condition The Scubapro DCAR Valve(Depth Compensating Adjustable Reserve Valve) allows the diver to set the reserve pressure at approximately 350 psi or 600 psi above ambient pressure. The reserve arm can be positioned either toward or away from the diver, and the arm position is retained by a spring loaded detent mechanism. The DCAR Valve includes an integral tank pressure gauge. The safety pressure release disc is new and sets the tank valve working pressure at 3000 psi with a disc burst pressure between 3960 and 4400 psi(disc marked 4200 psi) This valve is gently used and in good condition. UP FROM AUCTION IS THIS SHERWOOD GENESIS 65 STEEL SCUBA TANK The advantage of the high pressure tank is that it is smaller than the equivalent aluminum tank. It is also not as bouyant. So you need less weight on your belt or in your BC weight pockets. Lastly, it is shorter than an aluminum 80, so it is easier to carry around above and below water. This tank will hold 80 cubic feet of air if filled to 3500 PSI. The valve is called a DIN valve and it is more secure at the higher pressure. In order to use this tank, your regulator must be equipped with a DIN adaptor/ fitting. The information stamped into the top of the tank is: DOT-E9791-3500 TP5250 12/94. 485783. The tank was LAST hydro tested in May of 2007. It has not been rehydroed since then, so this tank was not used very much. The tank is in great condition. The outside of the tank looks ... morelike it is well used but its just from being stored so it should clean up easily. The DIN valve is a Sherwood model 6300. It opens and closes smoothly. My consignor wrote up the following on this valve: 6" flanged iron high-pressure gate valve with bronze gate. Seats, and jackscrew. HEAVY! Bolted bonnet. Non-rising stem. Not for modulating flow, must be either fully open or fully shut. Appears to have been properly operated that way, as the gate and seats have nice crisp edges, not visibly worn by silt or silica. Looks like it will shut with minimal seepage, maybe none, but no guarantee of shutting totally dry. Valve should sand- or glass bead-blast clean and beautiful, but be sure to do this first before disassembly, with rubber hose around the stem compressed ... moreand tightly butted against the bonnet, and the gate fully shut! Although it turns just fine now, expect to grease the jackscrew and re-pack for like-new feel and drip-free performance. This is one serious valve! Weighs XXX lbs. Believed to have come from the lower end of a high-head penstock supplying water to the nozzles of a Pelton wheel. This valve measures 27" long. End to end. The wheel measures 12" in diameter.
