This Sonofresco vent hood was used for 11 months in a low-volume coffee shop(about 6-10 pounds weekly) This stainless steel vent hood is 120v. It runs smoothly and is a very efficient venting system for the Sonofresco one-pound roaster. I have used both types of venting and much prefer the vent hood for its efficiency and performance. I have cleaned the hood and shined up the stainless steel. It is very nice looking as it has no dents or scratches. It does have a few discolorations on the underside of the hood. But this is just from the nature of coffee roasting and does not show when the hood in mounted. If a new hood was purchased, it would look like this after several uses.
