This one is a 1/2 ton spur ... moregear type. We hooked it up to operate the chain and and the hoist seems to be operating properly. The hook at the top allows the hoist or chainfall to swivel 360 degrees as one would expect. This is a handy garage. Farm or barn tool for occasional heavy lifting requirement. It could use a little cleanup and some grease in the grease fitting would probably be a good idea but seems to be in good mechanical condition overall. We did notice some wear to the inside surface of the chain guide or guard piece caused when someone stands off center to the hoise then pulls the chain so that it rubs on the guide. The guide is still in structurally sound condition in this area but did want to mention it and show this area in the pictures. This is a hefty hoist that will weigh about 75 lbs when packed for shipping. It will be over the USPS limit so we'll be using UPS ground for the shipping service. The zip code and city to use as starting location for those who wish to do their own estimate of UPS charges to their location would be 03301 and Concord, NH. Shipping costs will probably make this best suited for those located in the Northeast USA or New England area. We have no packing or additional shipping service fees. That's about it. For those who might inquire about local pickup this item is located about 15 minutes from the junction of Interstates 89 and 93 near Concord in central New Hampshire. GD Used Yale Spur Gear 1/2 Ton Hoist, Chain Fall, Swivel Hook Top, USA Made
Here's a used vintage Yale or Yale-Towne chainfall or hoist we received recently with some garage or workshop tool items. This one is a 1/2 ton spur gear type. We hooked it up to operate the chain and and the hoist seems to be operating properly. The hook at the top allows the hoist or chainfall to swivel 360 degrees as one would expect. This is a handy garage. Farm or barn tool for occasional heavy lifting requirement. It could use a little cleanup and some grease in the grease fitting would probably be a good idea but seems to be in good mechanical condition overall. We did notice some wear to the inside surface of the chain guide or guard piece caused when someone stands off center to the hoise then pulls the chain so that it rubs on the guide. The guide is still in structurally sound condition in this area but did want to mention ... moreit and show this area in the pictures. This is a hefty hoist that will weigh about 75 lbs when packed for shipping. It will be over the USPS limit so we'll be using UPS ground for the shipping service. The zip code and city to use as starting location for those who wish to do their own estimate of UPS charges to their location would be 03301 and Concord, NH. Shipping costs will probably make this best suited for those located in the Northeast USA or New England area. We have no packing or additional shipping service fees. That's about it. Or if you are into the steampunk industrial decore look this is a really cool piece. Using the washers and pins you see in the photos this will fit a 3 inch min. beam and go up to a 6 inch max. beam. The rod has a threaded hole on each end so if you needed to you could remove the pins and screw a washer or plate on each end of the rod.
