Griphoist Tirfor Model TU-17 Manual Wire Rope Hoist, 25 foot cable, No Handle
If you have to move something heavy. This will do the job! I have sold a couple of Tu-28s here on eBay. But this one is a little smaller. This hoist has seen some use and it looks a little rough. But it still works. Any button that is supposed to move/lock does. The only shortcoming might be in the two hooks; the clips that close the opening need some work or replacement. Please scroll down through 11 pictures; text between some pictures. Yep. There's some rust but it doesn't stop the functionality of this hoist. You will probably want to open this up and lubricate it. Always be sure to use the prescribed cable. Everyone of these I have sold was made in Luxembourg. France. I couldn't make that out on this one. But I'm pretty sure that's true of it also. I didn't unspool the cable. But I'm pretty sure it's 25 ... morefeet. Tirfor "griphoist" T-20, 3300 pounds line pull
The Tirfor griphoist uses clamping jaws to pull the wire much like a human pulling a piece of rope. With hand over hand. Much more reliable than a winch or chainfall. Comes with about 50' of 3/8" galvanized wire rope. There are three handles: T handle is for releasing the jaws to insert the wire, Large pipe handle is for pulling the wire. Smaller diameter wire is for releasing the load. I believe the large handle has shear pins that break if the device is overloaded-lets say by using a real long handle. The unit is in good working order and has been lubricated from the top but not taken apart. Weighs about 35 punds and has a nice carrying handle. From what I understand it can lift 3000 Pounds and Pull 4000 Pounds? Correct me if I'm wrong. This hoist seems to work but I am an electrician. And not a material handler. This is a Made in USA Tirfor 508D Griphoist. Linear wire rope puller. It uses jaws that pull, without damaging the wirerope in a hand over hand like motion. 2000# Capacity with a shear pin. The 5/16" wire rope has a breaking strength of 10,000 pounds. The handle provided is for light loads and reducing shipping cost. A 2' piece of 3/4" pipe may be needed for maximium pulling power/loads. Used almost monthly for a year after cleaning and lubrication. Always stored inside. No"fishhooks" in the wire.
