Cornice Parapet Hooks Swinging Stage Restoration Scaffolding Rigging Safety Rope
Up for bid is a nice pair of used cornice parapet hooks for use with a swinging stage scaffolding or safety ropes. These are designed to hook over a parapet wall or other roof surfaces or overhang that will support the weight. You would receive 2 hooks for the bid price. I believe the size of these are measured by the throat opening and these measure 21 inches. The overall length is 40-1/2 inches and width 26-1/2 inches. The material is 1/2" x 2" flat steel. The safety tie back ring is 3-1/2" OD and made of 1/2" dia. round steel. The main scaffold attachment opening is about 1-3/8" dia. and it is recommend to install a 3/4" or 5/8" clevis shackle connector there. I purchased the hooks used and there are no marking that I know of on the hooks. I also don't know what the capacity rating of the hooks are. ... moreAll I can say is I used them for years on a stage scaffolding with a 750 working load limit. And I was was careful not to exceed that by very much. Latter on when I got heavier rated scaffolding I obtained some larger heavier parapet hooks and then started using these just for attaching the safety ropes to the parapet or overhang. I havn't listed the heavier hooks yet.The weight of the hooks are about 20 lbs each. These hooks should only be used buy persons trained in rigging swinging stage scaffolding and a safety tie back rope or cable must be attached to the safety ring. And even after a cleaning there is still plenty of dust and cobwebs left to give it that eerie. Ghost like feel. The cloth sails are stiff and torn and tattered in a couple of places- just as you would imagine! And the mast tips have broken off as if the ship had weathered a tremendous storm or battle. Approximate overall dimensions: 30" long x 8" wide and 27-1/2" tall No doubt this fully assembled model is unique.
