Antique Cast Iron Double Rope Pulley Hay Mow?
Completely cast iron double rope pulley. I know nothing about pulleys but it does look like this one has a broken piece although the broken? end is as old looking as the rest of the pulley. I think it is the part that kept the rope snug. Make sure that you look at the photos before bidding so that you get exactly what you see. The pulley is about 15" including the hook. Some of the hinged areas and wheels do not move at this time. It is rusted. The wheels are metal. Not wood. There are some letters on the side which I cannot read. Shipping by flat rate box unless your location might make another method less expensive.

Antique rigging luff tackle For auction is a wonderful antique block and pulley set with a double and a single sheave pulley both with hooks and this set is commonly referred to as luff tackle. In addition to the pulleys we are pleased to have approximately 110 feet of 1" thick rope consisting of three 1/2" strands wound together. This set was produced by the Boston& Lockport Block Company in operation from 1847-1909. Both pulleys are marked with"Roller Bushed" as well as a stamped on 5 pointed star and circular metal plate with a star and barely legible company logo. We have not taken the pulleys apart however when hung they appear to be in proper order and all three sheaves are iron as would be common in that time period. Well constructed as noted the rope does have some repairs as shown and the thimble has pushed ... moreopen a bit on the small pulley. Double sheave pulley: Single sheave pulley 6 1/8" x 4 3/8" cheek 4 3/4" total thickness 6 3/4" long hook 13 1/2" total including hook. This item appears to be in good condition mostly. There is some surface scratches and what may be rust in a few spots but it is all on the surface and the hook is in one piece and doesn't look as if it could break easily. The hook part itself is about 7 1/2" long and at it's widest point it is 2 3/4" wide. The larger part that is the rope block or pulley part of this item is about 11" from the top of the item to the bottom of the rope block or pulley and at it's widest point it is 5 1/2" wide. PICK MY PICK Please check out my eBay for other collectibles and unique items. Here is the link k I recently picked a closed Redwood Lumber Mill on the Northern California Coast. It has long been out of business. I pulled gears. Cogs, sprockets and wheels from every piece of equipment I could get my hands on during the time I was allowed on site. This is one of the great items I pulled from an old machine. I will be listing the items over the next few weeks so check back often for great industrial antiques. Most of the items are cast iron and steel gears, pulleys and cart wheels. 14" ANTIQUE CAST IRON INDUSTRIAL THREE BELT PULLEY. It has all its original industrial patina. It's center hub opening is 2" diameter and the PULLEY is 2 1/2" thick. This thing weighs over 37 pounds. To save on postage and get even with the USPS ... morefor their high rates I jammed this in a flat rate shipping box. To keep it exploding from the weight I have it taped like a mummy. It does not look pretty but it keeps the shipping cost down.
