For sale is my beautiful custom made maple/acrylic hybrid snare drum. This hasn't been used to much so in very good condition. It has 10 ply reinforcement rings making the top and bottom edges 20ply maple. Full brass hardware and 4 large + 4 small off set layout vents(brass vents in the picture to show how it could look but not included) Very versatile snare from a loud rock sound tuned lower to a great funk crack when cranked up high and rim shots played close to the edge gives an amazing high timbale type sound. With this having a clear acrylic strip you can also install lights quite cheap and easy should you want this to be even more of a head turner than it already is. Tool part number is. 1159182 Manufacture Logo is M inside stamped diamond( Mandrel Hatch, MFG) A Tooling company that I do know Ford had many contracts with.Again stamped on side of the L, handle is about 15" long end to outside endof angle. There are no cracks, worn out on the end that I can see. It has about 90% of its Original paint. I honestly dont think it was ever really used, there is almost no wear on the hex! Looks like paint chips are from storage time. The shell is in great condition. There are a couple of barely noticeable dings but no scratches. As seen in one of the close up photos. There is a small area on the bearing surface that been filled and smoothed. There is some pitting on the metal surfaces, typical for a drum of this age. this is a 1979 slingerland spitfire 12 lug chrome on brass 5x14 snare drum with tdr strainer and 4 vent holes. i tested this with a magnet and it wont stick to the shell or the lugs but the magnet will stick to the sticksaver hoops. this drum is in nice condition but does not have original heads or wires.
