Offered here is an exceptionally rare F.M. Davis Safety Brake Horse-Power Hoisting Whim. Includes the often missing original wooden walking beam the horse or mule would have been attached to. As well as the original hoist lever, coupling and hoist sheave wheel. The walking beam measures 12' 2" long, with the whim bottom iron plate measuring 46" x 28" Weighs a hefty 1500 plus pounds, so this is for pickup only. I can haul it for $2.50 per loaded mile, but would rather it be picked up by you. Missing the brass plate that would have been attached to the post. Moves freely with beam either way, the drum moves not so easily. As early a mining artifact as you can find in such great condition.
