Almost civil war era. The color is a deep red. Each measures approx 1 5/8" x 1" Each has a typical black button holder(with holes for the thread) and an eye and hook brass closure. There are 2 raised bars across each buckle. These raised areas feel kind of rough like a match striker. They are a grey in color. This would be a nice addition for the military. I am offering for your consideration this vintage corset with 4 garters. Which according to its tag, is marked as a size 40. Fabric content is listed as 53% rayon and 47% cotton. Corset is in great condition, fabric is still nice and crisp which lends me to believe, it wasn't used much. Corset fastens with a total of 16 hook and eye fasteners. The secondary inside panel uses 8. The inside panel has some areas of light, tiny scattered foxing which when worn, will not be visible. Or perhaps will come out in the wash. There is no tag to indicate the brand name on this item(there is a fabric union tag) so it's hard to get accurate information about it. From what I can tell this is soft pink one piece bodyshaper leotard worn under clothing to hide pantie lines. Bra lines and create a smooth look. It has a hook and eye closure at the crotch. The leg opening is cut high and has a band of lace about 2 1/4 inches wide. The tag reads"stretch fabric. 87% nylon 13% lycra. Crotch 100% cotton. Made in the USA. It has the blue union tag printed on it that helps narrow down the age of the garment to the years of 1963-1974. The cups have the same lace as the leg opening and the straps are adjustable. The tag reads large but please look at pictures for measurements and sizing. This does not look like a large to me. It seems pretty small but it also has a ton ... moreof give due to the lycra content so I suppose it depends on how snug you want the fit to be. From the top of the strap to the gusset the measurement is approx. 24 inches. The bust cup is about 5 inches and the waist measured from seam to seam is 10 inches. This is a really pretty piece.
