14' 4 post Gantry crane, hoist clear span
14' 4 post Gantry with a clear clear span and 12 foot travel distance. Trying to get someone to get me the actual capacity for the gantry. Since the hoist is a 1/2 ton the stickers on it say 1/2 ton but it is way too solid and big for that. I would estimate at least 1-2 tons maybe more but I'm not a structural engineer. If I can get an answer from the old certification company i will post here. The hoist is a 2002 Loadmate LM 05 460V 3 phase according to the tag. Power up-down and beam travel. Vintage Sasgen Derrick Co. Winch Crane. Industrial Age Tow Truck Hoist This listing is for the winch only and does NOT include the custom base. This is an old Sasgen Derrick winch crane. Looks like they were used for a wide variety things from tow trucks to logging. I just used an old towel with a little WD-40 and got most of the dirt off of it because I wanted to check it out better. Looks like it is in very nice condition and turns freely and the gears look fine and the anti reversing cog works fine and the break pads seem to work. I was not able to find any kind of damage or cracks or repairs. I have only found a few others to compare it to and this one has a quick release handle that locks itself onto the shaft with a spring release that looks original and not sure how many of those are still around. The other ones that I had found on ... moreline had a handle that needed to be held in place with bolts. With the option of four different handle locations this quick release must have been a real time saver. It does have a bunch of cable that I think is 1/4” and it also has a heavy duty hook. If you do not need the cable I can unspool it and save you a little on the shipping cost. It is very heavy and because of the cast iron being brittle. I will custom build a wood shipping crate for it. It measures about 18” by 17” and about 14” tall. Please ask any questions before you bid because it is sold as found and as shown and as is. It is obviously old and shows signs of normal use and wear. If you have any questions please just ask before you bid. This listing is for the winch ONLY AND DOES NOT INCLUDE THE CUSTOM BASE. I will sell the base after the winch sells. This heavy duty base was custom made for this winch and should work with the ones made by this company with the same bolt pattern.
