Sterling Silver Augsburg German Trencher Salt c1681-1719 Presented silver trencher salt with hallmarks for silver made in Augsburg Germany c1700 with a maker's mark IA for Amende. Johann, Goldschmied. I have included pictures of my research in the photo’s above. This salt rest on a very stable raised shallow base with an inset bowl. It is in great condition with only some slight out of round aspects to the bottom rim where some silver is missing from one edge, please see pictures. It is an interesting style and would make an inspired addition to almost any collection of silver and table setting. I have an interesting assortment of items listed so please look at my other auctions. Sterling Silver ROUND OPEN SALT CELLAR"TRENCHER SALT" Marked"STIEFF STERLING"CW" R.T.31" for the STIEFF SILVER CO of Baltimore. Maryland. CW" stands for the" Colonial Williamsburg" pattern and"R.T. 31" is the pattern piece = Trencher Salt reproduced from an old English piece originally made in London in the 1700s. The mark as show in the photos was only used from 1940-1949. And not during WWII. The Sterling Silver is smooth with a nice gloss with no spots, pitting or discolorations on the inside or outside. However it does have a"ding/dent" on the top rim. Please see the photos. ~No monograms~ ~I love researching these pieces and was thrilled to learn that what I thought was a miniature DOG BOWL is actually an official reproduction of a Colonial Williamsburg 1700's English Salt Trencher. ~ In 1939 STIEFF SILVER Company of Baltimore. Maryland was chosen by Colonial Williamsburg to create reproductions and adaptations of colonial silver from the early 1700s. The first pieces were produced in 1940. Shortly thereafter. WWII would cause Stieff to curtail major silver production until the end of the war. Only a few patterns were made during the war. And the Williamsburg pieces were not among those made during the war. Therefore we have been able to date this piece as being made in the 1st 2 years of production from 1940-1942 or after the War ended in 1945- 1949. The hallmark was changed in 1949. Large Old Primitive Wood Trencher Dough Biscuit Bowl Handles Carved Tiger Maple?
We have a vintage wooden dough bowl that we bought from an antique estate sale here in Middle Tennessee. It measures 24 3/4" long X 12 1/2" And comes up from the table 4 1/2 to 5" Handles are carved on each end of the bowl on the outside. The bowl has a shiny finish on parts of it where it hasn't worn off and and you will see in the pictures that the wood has split at each end on the inside. I don't know what kind of wood it is. An eBayer told me her hunch was it was Tiger Maple. It weighs 5 lbs. This old trencher has lots of character and would fit right into a Country Antique Kitchen setting. 2008 Vermeer RT450 Trencher with Side Shift 6-way blade only 703 hrs
Please check out our video of this machine running in our yard. This is an excellent running/ operating trencher with the side shift option and 6-way blade. Teeth are mostly shark teeth for rock and are in about 75-80% condition. Sprockets are in good shape. With main drive sprocket being 90% and idler sprocket about 70% Chain itself is in about 75% condition. And blade is straight with no bends or worn edges. Machine is hydrostatic 4X4 and there are no leaks that I can find. Engine and hydraulics have been maintained very well. And recently serviced. Please call with any questions. One Bad Chainsaw Trencher Vintage Chicago Tool 1940's 1950's Hydraulic 52 "
Found this in a barn in Virginia- at first sight. My thought was" two man chainsaw" Then my thoughts went to"trencher. Problem with that is how narrow the teeth are. The chain teeth measure 3/8 inch wide and 7/8 inch tall. Appears to be 38 teeth. Overall the entire thing measures 52 inches. The bar is 38 Inch by 7 inches tall. This monster weighs around 65 pounds. It appears to be hydraulic. The guy I got it from says it belonged to the railroad but no real indication on the saw/trencher and most railroad stuff is clearly marked. Ok, looking at it as a trencher seems it could be a removable guard that unbolts with three bolts. I guess it would have made it easier for two people to carry. This thing has lots of numbers on it. It is marked on what I think is the transmission"RP Co. with numbers as shown in the pics. The ... morehydraulic motor is marked"Chicago Pnem Tool Co. and'Little Giant' Many other numbers on it. I have all of them in the pics. This thing looks unbelievable. Lots of uses for this. Clean it up, chrome the bar and chain and it would add a lot to a vintage tractor. Use it as a trencher or just mount it on the wall in the shop and tell everyone it's a chainsaw. All the cover plates were once chrome. This thing will really clean up. Large 20.25" Antique Primitive Old Wood Dough Bowl Trencher Treen Country Table
Great old bowl that I have had in my collection for years as display. Measures 20.1/4" long x 9 3/8" wide x approx 3 1/4" tall. This bowl has a nice rich warm patina with tool marks. Cutting marks and out of round variations. I can't even guess on the age. Please look closely at the pics to see if it fits your standards. This bowl will need to be cleaned. It has a coat of oil on it which has made in somewhat tacky.

As for the work I have done to this since I have had this; new battery. New tires, foam filled tires, three new rims, couple hydraulic hoses replaced, new ignition, adjusted valves, new carburator, changed all fluids, replaced fuel lines, new fuel filter, and cleaned out fuel tank. I just trenched 1200 feet of 3/4 poly for electric and water. This worked great. Starts fine with choke and runs great. Has an electric cooling fan that whines for the first minute then goes away.
