John Deere 440ID Loader Backhoe Tractor. John Deere 440 GM 2-53 Diesel Tractor. Has the JD#71 Loader and the#51 Backhoe Attachment. Tractor is optioned with Factory Power Steering and a Reverser. The Detroit Diesel Engine runs good- they can be fussy to start in colder weather and I would recommend using a block heater on the tractor for winter use. The transmission is a five speed and drives forward/reverse without any obvious/abnormal noise. I have been using the reverser for forward/reverse as the clutch will not disengage when the pedal is pressed. I do not know if the clutch is stuck or if there is an adjustment that needs to be made to make it release at this time. The power steering works good; it may have a few connections that need tightening up as now and again the front wheels will continue to turn a small amount unless a small ... morecorrection with the steering wheel is made. The hydraulics/loader/backhoe all seem to function properly. There are some welds here and there on the backhoe frame. Front tires are in good condition; rear tires have good tread and hold air fine but do have some weather checking. I do have the hood for the tractor even though it is not pictured- it is in good shape with no dings/dents/etc. Restore it or use it. a 440 with the diesel engine had low production numbers and would be an interesting tractor to have in your barn. 1958 John Deere 320 Standard Slant Steer. SN 325041, very rare model, only built for one year and fewer 320 Slant Steers built than 330s. Runs excellent, starts right up, doesn't smoke, good oil pressure. New muffler, seat back, steeering wheel. New headlights, all the lights work including the red tail light and dash light. Still has the original 6v system. 3 point works good, lift links turn and not frozen, also has drawbar. No breaks or welds on engine, clutch housing, tranmission or final drives. Wide front is nice, nothing broke or welded. Clutch works good, shifts nice, quiet transmission, both brakes work as should. Pto works. Been sitting in my shop and no puddles/leaks underneath tractor. Sheetmetal is straight and very useable, not all smashed up and pounded back out like most of them, nice fenders. Paint is mostly original ... moreexcept for hood and nose that was painted years ago to prevent rust, still see many of the original decals. Rear tires are 11.2x24 and appear original but do hold air, rims are solid around valve stem hole, original front rims. No fluid in them. Nice tractor to restore or use as is. Up for auction I have a 1958 john deere 730 propane. The tractor starts up by the push of the button and runs great. I have been using it around the farm the last couple weeks and it runs great and has lots of power. It will idle down to the point where you can almost count the fan blade revolutions. The transmission shifts into all of the gears and the clutch operates like it should. The charging system charges and the wiring is in pretty decent shape. The brakes stop on a dime. It has a factory three point hitch in pretty good condition. The powers steering works. The tin work is good and straight. It wouldn't take much work to make it perfect. The rear tires are in great shape. They are about 75-80% tread remaining. It has a nice set of original front 1268r rims. John Deere Model 430 Garden Tractor With johnson Loader Pallet Forks And Bucket.
I use this machine daily. I have owned it for several years with great reliability. I maintain it regularly using Shell or John Deere lubricants and fluids. It runs fantastic. Starts easily in any weather and doesn't leak. The fuel pump has been serviced. Timed and balanced by Diesel Systems within the last 2 years. It does not have hydro creep. The machine lifts very strong and very fast. In warm summer weather the lift cylinders tend to inch down a bit. Cylinders are a SERVICABLE design. They can easily be disassembled re rung and reassembled without welding or any other special tools other than snap ring pliers. Hydraulic hoses are in ok shape. I have replaced some on an as needed basis some are original. It has a front Pto driven pump that is easily removable. It uses a standard John Deere front frame extension and Pto shaft extension ... moreto drive the pump. All the factory tractor hydraulics are intact and operational. The gauges shown are add ons currently non functioning. I can't seem find ones that can live long under vibration. I can remove them or leave them there buyers choice. The headlamp switch needs to be replaced if lighting is desired. I never needed lights for my purposes so I never gave it attention. I do not use this machine with the grill in place because 430 grilles are easily damaged and are very expensive. I have set them aside for protection. Same for the engine side covers. Both are available for the buyer if he wants them. Side covers would need to be clearances to fit around the loader frame. Knowing what the covers can sell for I just never could bring myself to cut them. I am very flexible how this machine is sold. we can negotiate the 3 point hitch. Wheel weights, pallet forks, side panels grille, or anything else you may already have, don't need or don't want. Up for auction I have a 1959 john deere 430W serial number 155828. The tractor starts by the push of the button and runs out good. It had been sitting for a couple years. I changed the points and it fired right up and has great oil pressure. It could maybe use a carb kit but the more I run it the better it's gotten. It has good power and doesn't smoke. The coolant system is full of antifreeze and doesn't leak. It has factory powersteering which is a very rare option on these! Very few came with the factory power steering system. It also has a float ride seat on it. Floatride seats alone bring $500.00 for a 430. It also has a set of hydraulic remotes and live pto. Aswell as a 5 speed transmission. So as you can see the tractor is loaded with options. It isn't too often that these show up on the market loaded with options. The ... moreclutch and brakes work as they should. The transmission shifts into all of the gears as it should. It has a three point hitch and a set of fenders that are in good shape aswell. The tin work is in good shape. It wouldn't take much work to make it perfect if you were going to restore the tractor. The rear tires are matching tread and still have some decent tread depth to them. We believe this to be the original paint from the information we received from the family, also comparing the color of the paint with other original tractors from that era especially on the underside. It's a nice one. Back in the 80's it was hard to find a 430 at least a nice one and when you did it was very expensive. So here it is after near 30 years being displayed in a glass cabinet and because of age I'll take the loss, I have to close the collection. This unit is for local pick-up.I will not ship but can load unit into YOUR truck.This is a real nice 1987 John Deere 430 diesel tractor.Tractor has 239 hours on original working meter.Tractor was purchased 11 years ago with 205 hrs on it.This machine has NEVER had a mowing deck on it.It was ONLY used with the plow blade pictured and a 2 stage blower that has already been sold and NOT included.Tractor has a electric PTO that works perfect.Winter use only and this is the reason.I believe hours to be correct.Tractor runs and works perfect.3 cylinder yanmar diesel starts instantly.Power steering front and rear hydraulics,etc.If you are reading this,more than likely you know all about these tractors.Cozy cab has working heat,defrost fan,front windshield wiper,front and rear work lights and top warning light.Rear tires are original.Fronts were ... morejust replaced due to dry cracking.I have a set of rear chains that I will included as well as some original manuals for tractor,blade and cab.I believe this tractor has been painted at 1 time?Not sure as it is hard to tell.You can see some rust bubbling starting on back fenders where cab sits.There are normal scrapes and scratches for a tractor that is 28 years old.The headliner was starting to fall down so I took it out completely as seen in second to last picture.These are hard to find in this condition.PERIOD.Great condition.NO suprises.Not in a rush to sell,just have too many tractors not getting used.Local pick up.Buyer to pay $250 deposit with Pay Pal at time of purchase.Remainder must be paid with cash at pick-up within 7 days of auction end.If Pay Pal is to be used for entire purchase,you must contact me prior to auction end.Local buyers are encouraged to look at unit and equipment trades are considered.Please look at our other auctions as we will be posting more construction related equipment.
