It is a solid running tractor with no black smoke or blowby. This tractors engine is very tight. And we believe that it has probably been overhauled at some point. It is dripping a little oil by the rear PTO area so that will need some attention at some point. There was once a cab on the tractor so there are a couple extra holes on the side. There is also an after market step on the back that will be taken off and the original put back on. The transmission is very tight. One of the best on the farm. It holds good in 5th gear, but ... moremay slip when it is put into road gear. Some things that will need to be done in the future are; rear main seals, actuator pins and one of the rear tires. I have owned this tractor for 10 years cutting and baling 17 acres of hay. This is a diesel tractor. I am pretty sure the hours are correct. It shows 6775hrs on the meter. The tractor has dual remotes. A#46 front loader and the tires are in very good condition. It has a factory block heater but I have never needed to use it in SW Ohio. I replaced the 2 batteries a couple of years ago with JD batteries. The tractor is 12 volt. All gauges work. This tractor has the Power Shift transmission. All gears work as they should. This is a used John Deere seat with the brackets. Spring, and most of the base. It came off of a early 1970's 7020. The seats do show some cracking, fading, and there is some rust on the back, which is shown in the pictures. It is still a comfortable seat, with the foam intact, and in great shape. There are some of the bolts that are gone. This is a nice John Deere 4020 diesel with an M& W turbo added. Horsepower should be somewhere around 116(Same setup as a JD 4320) The sheetmetal is in very nice condition and the paint is good too. This is not a show tractor just a great farm tractor that looks as good as it runs. Tractor has the synchro shift transmission. Dual remotes, 540 and 1000 pto, new rear rims and newer front wheels. All of the tires are at least 70% It also comes with a John Deere ROPS and fiberglass canopy. Just installed 2 new Interstate 12volt batteries. All of the lights are in working order. I'm selling my 3010 John Deere gas tractor serial# T13018. I bought it a while ago thinking that it would be a great chore tractor. I fixed a few things on it and never found the time to finish. Instead. I found myself working on other things and not the tractor. It runs good and does drive around. The clutch and brakes work. It seems to shift pretty good too. The power steering works great. The rims seem pretty good around the stems. I didn't actually use this tractor to farm with, just tinkered with it. It does need some things fixed to be used daily. It needs: tune up, starter solenoid, correct battery box and cable, fuel line fixed, a couple of pieces of sheet metal, the other side of the 3 point. It does run good one started, but needs the carburetor gone through. It only has one side of the 3 point hitch(that's how I bought ... moreit) It has decent rear tires- one has 80% tread and the other is around 30% with a good casing. John Deere 4020 diesel tractor, clean straight and original 2 owners read desc
I bought this tractor off of the second owner and this thing is about an original tractor as you will find. The person that I bought it off of has owned it for the last 15 years and he had 29 acres of food plots that he would disc up and that is all he used it for. As you can see in the pics there is a side battery holder and that is because he did not want to buy the right batteries so he just used 2 car batteries and started it. That is what we used to get it running when I loaded it. When I unloaded it I just jumped the clutch while it was rolling off the trailer and it fired right up. I parked it on a hill so if it isn't really cold we can start it this way or pull start it. The tractor is running in the pictures. This thing is very straight and clean. I bought this tractor at a auction. This tractor runs good. It is not the prettiest thing in the world but it still has a lot of life left in it. It shifts through all the gears like it should the brakes work and the three point works it does need a linkage cable for the3 point. I did notice that there was a a leak in the front seal but it was not running out of it and the tractor is running in the pics It is sitting at the auction yard where I bought it they will help you load it if you need. Good tires, 15.5-38 rears, sheet metal a little rough, cab in good shape, farmhand f258 loader with bucket only, has its own hyd pump and valve for the loader, the controls for the loader are mounted by the seat. No 3 pt arms but it has the rockshaft and wishbone for them, pto works good, 540 and 1000 pto, has the Hinson cab with both doors, new aftermarket seat, tractor starts right up and runs and shifts good, loader operates good, clutch feels good. A quick word on the meaning of NOS: these are items that have never been used. But they have been lying around for a while. Parts that deteriorate with time may need to be replaced, like shaft seals. Valves may be lightly stuck. The paint may be chipped and it may not quite match the color of the rest of your tractor, anyway, so figure on stripping and painting the part to match your paint job.
