This listing is for a vintage Seymour Manufacturing Company post hole auger. It is a model 150-10B. It measures right at 60 inches long and 8-1/2 inches in diameter for the blades. It includes what appears to be the original handle. Though if this unit is being purchased for actual use, it would need to be replaced. It has a couple of very small pin holes from some boring pest and likely is somewhat rotten and would break before long. The metal portions are in good condition. It has a very unique dumping mechanism. There is a sliding collar on the shaft just above the blades that when slid upward releases one of the blades. The blade swings outward making it easy to dump collected dirt. Holding the unit upright causes the blade to swing back down and the latch to re-engage to hold it in the cutting position. My wife purchased this to put posts in for her pastures(horses) It was used mainly in sandy country and probably 2 or 3 times a year. Then always winterized and put away. Look at the auger. The paint is still good except the very edges. Its a 2 stroke engine but its a little power house. I can use it myself but Im a pretty big guy. Its not heavy at all and its well balanced but if the user is digging along and hits a root and isn't ready. Well it can hurt when it tries to keep spinning and your not ready for it. This is for a vintage Hubley Ford 4000 Select-O-Speed tractor and post hole digger. They are 1/16th scale toys and in overall good. Original, condition. The only thing not original are the tractor decals, which are correct reproductions. The toys do have play& age related wear, including scratches and missing paint. Both headlights and single fender light are present. The steering works fine and the rear wheels have the normal amount of wobble associated with these particular tractors. Three point raises and lowers fine. The post hole digger has a bit more wear than the tractor, but still a presentable piece. The `tangs` of the post hole digger are securely attached and it turns with ease. The spring keeps the auger in the raised position with no trouble. There is some surface corrosion on it.
