This is a very cool little amp standing 19" high x 15" x 8" Is solid state and fully functional with no problems in rarely seen. Beautiful cosmetic condition. It was probably is sombody's closet for decades. Even the foot pedal for tremelo works correctly. The tremelo sounds excellent. Maximum volume is suited for good practice or could be mic'ed in studio. It has a 6 x 9 heavy duty speaker with clear as a bell tone except at full volume, it then get a light overdriven sound which is not too thick. All knobs work and are quiet. Cometics are excellent with a few tiny flakes at edges of the side panels which are the original splatter texture blackish paint. It's probably from the mid to late 1960s. It's a bit more modernistic than most and this model seems quite rare, as I have never seen another on Ebay since ... moreI got this about 4 years ago. Epiphone produced amplifiers under Gibson in the 60's. Basically copies or variations of Gibson and Fender amps. These amps were all tube, some with tube reverb and tube tremolo. Like this gem: the Zephyr EA-15 RVT 2x10. The EA-15 RVT Zephyr was manufactured from'61-65. Gray tolex, light gray grille, split c logo(on panel) Script e logo on grille. The really nice thing about this amp is it has it all in one smaller. Taller, lighter combo package. Two 10" original Jensen speakers made in Chicago; A heavy-duty steel and plexiglass carrying handle; tremolo and reverb with original combo footswitch which fits into its own steel"holster" in the open back of the amp so it doesn't move around when you transport the amp; Two channels. Heralded as the best sounding tube amp EICO manufactured. EICO is one of the little known manufacturers of the 1950's and 1960's, but dedicated and knowledgeable audio enthusiasts are fully aware of the warm rich and organic sound the EICO HF-14 creates. It is considered one of the best sounding tube amplifiers, bar none. This little gem produces a small, by number, 14 watts, but very bid on the soundstage end. I have slowly and methodically powered up this amp over 3 days on a variac. Day 1 at 60 volts. Then Day 2 graduating in 5 volt increments until full voltage, and finally full line voltage(117 volts) for a full Day 3. I do not have the proper tubes for the amp and therefor did not ... moreaudition it in my fully tube system, but when metered on the variac, it coasted effortlessly at about.25ma, hardly breaking a sweat, at full power. That being said, the power supply and capacitors seem to be in very good working order as indicated by the current draw at full power. Please do not take this as a guarantee of functioning. It is a 50 year old unit, and could need some maintenance. CONDITION: Very good original condition. Chassie is very nice. Strong lettering and good paint with just superficial wear. Transformers have minor surface rust but not pitted. They can be wired brushed and re-painted, making the amp a very handsome looking unit. Will benefit from a light cleaning. Lacking tubes. My research shows they crimp type 3 loose piece pin and socket contacts within the wire range of 14& 18-16 AWG. They are in great used shape. No signs of abuse. Only light scratches from normal use. They also have the previous owner company name/employee number scribed in the body. Nothing that affects performance. They ratchet flawlessly.
