Bidding on a Welch Allyn Diagnostic set case# 05250. This is a used item in good working condition. This is the type that plugs into the wall for charging. Comes with an old battery that still takes chargies, i cannot guarantee the life span of the battery. Unit has a couple of cosmetic issues, the top part of the battery housing/handle has a very small dent on the side, it was shown in the pictures, it is small and not too obvious. Also the zipper is coming off the case along the seam as shown in pictures. These are purely cosmetic issues, will not affect how well the unit works. Up for Auction. This is a VINTAGE ANTIQUE Opthalmoscope Kit made by the Welch Allyn Company out of Auburn. New York, USA. It comes in the Original leather-bound case. This is a Battery operated model(batteries not included. It also comes with two attachments, and two bulbs(all pictured. I do not know how to put this together, so it is UNTESTED- but all adjustment settings turn freely and appear to work. This tool has been used- so there is wear on the item. Inside the battery compartment, there is some battery corrosion(pictured) that probably can be cleaned off. It doesn't seem to have worn into the unit itself. The case shows normal signs of wear(there is a scratch on the top- pictured, but it closes and locks into place just fine. I also do not know the age of this unit- other than that it is old. I know the newer models are rechargeable. ... moreThe mirror on(one of the attachments) is in GOOD CONDITION, with no visible scratches. When looking through the lens of the other attachment- you can see the enlarged image clearly and in focus. Apparently, Dr. Beane owned this- because his/ or her name is written on the inside of the case(pictured. This item may, or may not work. so, it may, or may not be just for décor. But, it is COLLECTIBLE and pretty cool. The entire kit in the case weighs 21 oz. measures 8 1/8" x 3 3/8" x 2 1/8" The base unit is 1 9/16" in diameter. And 6 3/16" long. Doctor's used to use this device for checking eyes, ears, nose, and throat on their patients, typically during a routine checkup. Does it work? You bet. All the bulbs are still good after 60+ years. There are no cracks, repairs, or chunks missing, however, the original black paint has worn off and been completely removed from the battery ... moreholder assembly. This sleek device combines an otoscope and ophthalmoscope and folds up neatly for storage and travel. It is lightly used and in perfect working order. 2 AA batteries are included and the case. It works on batteries even though the charger is missing. There is a little tape on the battery case because there is a small crack on it but it works fine and closes the battery door.
