The Humphreys' Box is empty but contained the 1917 Veterinary Guide Book. 2 of the bottles are marked POISON. The A.C. Daniels Colic Box is missing the lid. Berwick House. 139, Oxford Street, W. and 154 Rencknock Road N. 1896. This is an authentic 1896 antique publication that contains oodles of recipes and receipts for the cure of diseases that ails your horse with some receipts for cattle as well. It also includes receipts for a great coat. How to prevent abortion, how to stop a kicking horse and much more. Written in the U.K. and gathered specifically from huntsmen and notable veterinary sources, this book is far more than a farm journal. These receipts were meant for very valuable and well bred horses, not just work horses and disposable animals. As stated in the Preface, this humble volume was written specifically for coachmen and stable ... moregrooms. Gleason's Veterinary Hand Book and System of Horse Taming
This interesting book on veterinary science and horse taming shows age-related wear on the cover- front. Back, and spine- and inside. The title page is missing and several pages in the front of the book in the Table of Contents are torn loose from the binding. The binding is torn at the front cover as well. The Preface is dated April 5, 1889, so the book is on the order of 125 years old. It is not surprising that the pages are VERY brittle and brown with age.
