Olympus Microscope KHC Mechanical Stage and focus holder
For sale is a Olympus stage. I believe it is a KHC stage but I know very little about this. The knobs that controls the X/Y range of movement are crooked and though the mechanics still work they are not smooth. It is still totally functional as-is. It just isn't working like new. I don't know how easy this sort of thing is to fix/align. Stage has a few minor scratches/marks that you usually see with used pieces of equipment. Nothing major. It has a focus holder mount on it(I think that is what it is called. Please look at the pictures) I know nothing about it and see no markings on it. The mechanics on it seem to work fine. Olympus CK2 Inverted Phase Contrast Microscope. In used, but fantastic shape. I originally purchased this on eBay, with three amazing objectives, for $2500. It's extremely clean and well maintained. Apart from a few dings on the dial faceplate and rub marks on the table, it appears and functions perfectly. The main body has been capped when stored, and the objectives in separate cases, all of which was stored in a climate controlled environment; my living quarters(I'm a non-smoker. The table extension is attached. The mechanical stage and specimen holder operate smoothly, with no backlash. The eyepieces were original, and they were too worn for my liking. So, I connected with a reputable dealer and got hold of a pair of Japanese made(around the time microscope was made) eyepieces that looked like new. Tiyoda Tokyo Hi eye M10. They ... moreare pristine, and made a fine match. I'll include the original eyepieces by Olympus. Soon after, I purchased the 40x SPLAN PL objective for $500. I don't have the insert for the phase slider. This never came standard with the microscope, and it's in fine shape, the optics are bright and clear. The Trinocular works perfectly, and the mechanism is smooth. I went ahead and put on the 20X LWD objective, attached a Canon 20D camera, scraped some cheek cells from inside my mouth, and placed it on a petri dish with a few drops of water. see photo) I was able to bring out details from within the nucleus; chromatin fibers around the nucleolus. These are living cells, and you can see all kinds of structures by manipulating the phase slider. It's working fine, and I'm sure someone that knows how to use this could make it sing. This is a complete package: the Olympus SZ-III Stereo Zoom Microscope. With the boom stand, the light(extra bulbs included) a 0.5 Barlow Aux Objective lens, and the 10x/20 eyepieces. Since 2007, I have used this microscope as a fine art engraver. There are some scratches on the back of the head of the microscope that can be seen in the photos and other light scratches on the scope but that has not limited its use in any way. There are no scratches on any of the lenses of this scope and it has a very clean and clear picture. All the numbers on the scope are still clearly visible. The only damage to this system is cosmetic, it still functions wonderfully with everything in working order. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
