Also included is a printed copy of the Instruction Manual for the microscope. The name of the manufacturer of this instrument is found on the top front face of the body tube. Olympus, Tokyo. Also included is a serial number, 206527. This serial number dates this instrument to circa 1970, just before Olympus changed the cosmetic appearance of the POS model microscope from a black lacquered finish to beige lacquered finish to give it a more modern appearance. Olympus designed the POS microscope to be a precision instrument. But with a simplicity of manipulation for maximum versatility.
