This is an extremely rare complete Olympus BH2 BHSM incident light DIC material testing microscope. It is useable for brightfield. Simple polarisation, Nomarski(differential) interference contrast and darkfield. The microscope is in great condition. The filter holder tube of the vertical illuminator. The frontplate of the lamp house and the rack of the condenser holder were originally made from plastic. These parts were precisely re-manufactured from eloxed aluminium and chromium-plated brass by an fine-mechanic expert. These materials are technically much more trustable. The microscope shows some minor signs of the age and normal usage on the outside painting. The little plastic knob of one switch is missing. The optical elements are clean. They are also in excellent condition. The 10x objective has some marks of an earlier cleaning on the ... morefront lens but it is invisible in the image. The objective casings shows some signs of the age and normal usage on the outside. The analizer is a fixed one. The polarizer is built in the vertical illuminator- it is removable from the light-path when desired. The high-quality polfilters of the system are manufactured by Zeiss. There is a very small screw(correct name is"Eyetube Locater Tab" sticking out of the barrel that engages in a slot in the eyepiece receiver tube. The slot and screw serve to hold the barrel fixed while the upper portion is twisted to achieve focus. It's quite handy to help get a camera on the trinocular head par-focal with the eyepieces. Focus on the specimen using the camera. Then use the right-H eyepiece to match focus. After the right eyepiece is focused you can then focus the left eyepiece in the normal manner and all will be par-focal. If you plan on using live view, or the camera mount itself can be focused, it really isn't necessary, but it's nice anyway. FINAL NOTE to users: For users that take apart the WK 10X/20L-H eyepiece to clean the ocular lens or maybe lubricate the focusing threads please remember to screw it back together softly and do not force the threads. OLYMPUS Microscope BH-SWTR Super Wide Trinocular Head With Superwide Eyepieces
UP for sale is an OLYMPUS BH super wide trinocular head and a pair of 30 mm diameter super wide eye pieces. I have tested this superwide trinocular head on BH microscope which works great. And I also mounted on BH2 series microscopes which also fits and works great. There are some residues on the top metal part of the trinocular head(see last two photos) But these small residues are on the metal and does not affect the view in any way. These are not dents and can be cleaned off with the right cleaning agent. I have tested that this super wide head indeed provide the beautiful 26.5 field numbers. 2 super wide eye pieces are focus-able. One is very smooth when turned. The other one is fixed and may need a little lubricant. Very easy to do. I just don't have time. Or you can simply leave it alone and use this eye piece as the reference view ... moreand focus the other one. All the controls on the trinocular head moves smoothly. it has been tested. Cleaned and ready for use.
