Made by prestigious optic material manufacturer E. Leitz Wetlzar. This nice instrument comes in its original wooden case and keeps also various accessories. The microscope is in good condition and works perfectly, letting the user watch samples like the first day. It has a three-lens revolving nosepiece; all the lenses are engraved with the logo of the manufacturing brand and the magnification number. The article also has an eyepiece in the turret and three more extra ones, all of them stored in their corresponding wooden stand inside the case. The microscope is made of soft and shiny black-lacquered iron. Golden brass and silvery metal. The brass pieces show slight signs of wear due to ... morethe trace of time, but they work perfectly; the patina of time provides the instrument with charm and personality. The microscope keeps all its original parts in good condition: the oscillating mirror, the stage with the clips, the diaphragm and the focus. At the front of the turret we can see an inscription with the manufacturer’s name and the serial number 178707 engraved in the metal. The article comes with some accessories, all of them well kept in their cases and wooden stand that fit into their corresponding compartments inside the box. There is a stand with three eyepieces, a faux leather covered box for the lenses and a box with sliding lid that contains glass plates for the samples and accessories to prepare them. Leitz Wetzlar Accessory Viewfinder
Accessory rangefinders were often added to Leicas in the early 1930s. Before they were incorporated into the camera design. Of course, the rangefinder could be used with any camera. I got this one with a Kodak Retina I made in 1938 or 39 and believe it is of the same vintage. It is marked in feet instead of meters indicating it was intended for the US market. Physical condition is amazing for a 70+ year old piece. It is not particularly accurate- 8 feet indicated is 7 feet actual. The glass is a little cloudy as well. Cannot see from loooki inside but I notice when I look at it from the outside. There is the case. The tab to lock it is present but it broke off when I went to lock ot. I will include for repair. The veteran stored it in a locker. The left side has a bump as shown on th etop but I do not see any internal affect. Very slight bang. These are very good qulaity. First time offered. No reserve.

Lens is overall in decent condition. Barrel and cosmetics are not the nicest but certainly more than fair. Glass is overall in good shape. Except some coating deterioration on edges of the front element. It could also be a matter of cleaning but I cannot guarantee. I don't see any fungus. Cleaning marks or other blemishes. A very nice Leica 90mm Canadian Summicron-M lens. E48. Serial# 2751442. Telescoping lens shade, and tripod mount. Barrel shows some minor wear. Smooth focus and aperture. Beautiful multicoated optics. There is a little bit of dust visible in the lens. But nothing that would affect the pictures- it's only apparent when the lens is pointed at a strong light source. No fungus, or damage. Unlike other 90mm Summicrons that I had, this one focuses with 100% accuracy on my calibrated Leica M6- at close up/wide open. And at infinity. Comes with a new B+W MRC filter, and rear cap- no front cap. I am sorry to be selling it, but I have to pay for another purchase. It shows very minimal signs of use overall. There is a small ding on the built in hood mid-center that can be seen in the pictures. The mount is excellent. Focus is silky smooth, aperture is dry and snappy. The lens has a cluster of pin-point divots in the front element. Under most normal circumstances this will not be seen by film or sensor. I tried to get it to show in it when testing and could not make it appear. However. I suspect that with direct sunlight on the glass and stopped down, it might be seen. Microscope in case comes from an estate. It has sticker identifying it as"G.U. 9041" Which means it probably comes from Georgetown University, which is in the area. An E Leitz Wetzlar parallel linkage brass microscope No.17247 in poor condition faults listed as follows: 1 Missing slide clip from stage. 2 Objective lens is a mess. 3 Mirror has lost its silvering 4 Tarnishing and paint loss throughout This item is suitable for restoration or as a source of spares only but am led to believe it is a fairly rare model. Leitz Wetzlar 2.5 x/ 0.08 Pl Microscope Objective 2.5 x magnification objective. Pl. 2.5/0.08. 170/ Used but great condition. Looking at the objective(with the naked eye) there do not appear to be any scratches or marks on the glass surfaces of the lens. However I am no expert! Professionally engraved with what I presume is the original owners details. I am having a clear out of old microscopic/ microscopical equipment from a variety of manufacturers(Leica.
