Classic and collectable late 1950's-mid 1960's boxed Nippon Kogaku(Nikon) Microflex Prism Reflex Microscope Attachment with instruction booklet. Every once in a while I’m asked to list an item that truly fascinates me! I have been commissioned by a good friend to sell his Nippon Kogaku“Microflex Prism Reflex Microscope Attachment”complete and in the box. These don’t show up on e-bay very often and are considered scarce(I hate the over-used word“rare! I have one in my collection. But this is the first I’ve seen in many years. This unit is s/n#31018. And according to Robert Rotoloni in his great book“The Complete Nikon Rangefinder System” it appears to be a type IV…as the shutter speeds go up to 1/300th second. These Microflex units came with 2 different type of camera mounts, the Nikon/Contax RF and the Leica Thread Mount. This particular ... moreunit has the Leica thread mount adapter. Looking into the box…all the spaces appear to be filled, so the outfit looks complete…including the 3, almost mythical filters(yellow, orange and green) These mostly get lost over the course of the unit’s lifetime. The outfit also comes with the correct silver wire cable release…also another item that often goes missing. My JPEG image layout hopefully gives you an idea of how the outfit looks in the box, out on the table with all pieces displayed, with a Nicca, Type 3a attached(sorry, no SM Leica at this present time!and finally mounted on an actual microscope. This should give you some idea of size and completeness. The outfit contains 2 viewing devices(oculars)one that looks like a binocular head with diopter adjustments, and the other a fine-grain large screen viewer. This viewer has a mask etched into the glass front. The outfit also contains a small loupe…another item that also goes missing!
