This beaker is 2" tall 1 3/4" in diameter at the top and 1 1/8" in diameter at the bottom and weighs 23.6 grams. It has the"Three Tower Mark" instituted in 1608 as the official mark of Copenhagen. In 1893 it became the national mark for Denmark. The numbers below indicate the year. The Three Towers were always marked in conjunction with the initial of the Assay Master in this piece it is(M) The use of both marks was discontinued by 1977. The condition is very good having no dents or problems. Ir has the normal signs of age and use.

Ringware Pottery Beaker - Bauer ?
This auction is for the 3" tall pottery beaker pictured. It looks as if it could be Bauer but my Bauer book pictures no such item. The outside looks like it was made in a mold but the inside is very crude. There is also an area on the bottom ring(outside) directly below the spout which is rough but glazed over which would indicate the damage/deforming was prior to glaze application. I don't think there is a maker's mark on the bottom under the little pool of glaze. Strange piece but. If it was made by someone at Bauer, it could be a rarity. This is a piece of commemorative ware made to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of King George V and Queen Mary in 1935. Beneath the rim is a continuous banner. Reading‘GEORGE V AND QUEEN MARY SILVER JUBILEE’ On the front there is a large transfer print, featuring portraits of Their Royal Majesties in profile. Beneath this is a banner reading‘1910 1935’ The whole is surrounded by the flags and floral symbols of the countries of the United Kingdom. The reverse bears a further transfer print. Featuring the letters‘GM’ in an oval, surrounded by a laurel wreath and topped by the royal crown. There is an oval shaped transfer printed logo. Consisting of a Union Jack in the centre surrounded by a stylised belt bearing the words‘BRITISH POTTERY MANUFACTURERS FEDERATION’ and above this‘OFFICIAL DESIGN’ In addition, there are the words'GREEN& CRUP ... moreand GRESLEY MADE IN ENGLAND. Vintage Brentleigh Ware Queen Elizabeth II Coronation 1953 Pottery Beaker You are bidding on this lovely official Coronation pottery beaker. Bearing a conventional transfer, which was given to schoolchildren by town councils and schools. This beaker does show over all crazing but does not take away from the loveiness of this vintage item. The transfer is in great condition with one small flaw that I will try to take photos of. The colours are still bright and bold. There are no chips or cracks. But there are some irregularities in the ceramic and glazing which appear to have been from the initial manufacture. Made by Brentleigh Ware Staffordshire England.

Depicting our Highnesses to the facia and the words‘ COPYRIGHT VANDYK’ with gilded top rim. Standing at 10cm it has crazing throughout and some little marks commensurate with age and use. A lovely beaker by Doulton Burlsem and made in 1897 for the Diamod Jubilee of Queen Victoria. She is sitting on the throne and they did these beaker in about 12 different colour ways and some rarer than others and this one is in the rare Ink Blue colour. Lovely style and design and all the writing on the back. It is approx 3.75 inches high and in general good condition but tiny nick on the base edge at the back that hardly shows and thus the lower price for this beaker. The beaker was made in 1937 to celebrate the Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. This followed the abdication of his elder brother.Edward VIII. As King, Edward reigned for only eleven months. Constitutional difficulties arose in regard to his intended marriage to Mrs. Wallis Simpson,and he had to renounce his Kingship rather than embarrass the monarchy.As such his Coronation ceremony never took place, his brother King George VI and his Consort Queen Elizabeth were crowned in his place. ... moreThe trumpet shaped translucent fine china beaker has a hand enameled. Beautifully rendered half length profile portrait of the young King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, set within a gilt starburst frame,surmounted by a gilt Imperial State Crown. To compliment the stunning design of the front.The reverse has the Coronation date set into a decorative frame, again surmounted by The Imperial State Crown. The inner rim is encircled by a thick gold band which has a repeated pattern of Crowns and the 1937 date.The lavish gilded decoration makes this a stunning and very desirable collectors piece. The 4 1/4" 105mm tall beaker is in fair condition with excellent graphics and no wear to the heavy gilt but there is a fine hairline(now stbilised) Se first picture unedr the text. On the base is the Minton backstamp together with a dedication for the occasion and the LE number 746. Were it not for this defect this would be priced at about £200.
