And coming to you As-Is since it shows the little red battery symbol and the little red wrench symbol in the status window. This unit doesn't have any pads or battery with it, so neither are include. Even without a battery in it, when the lid is opened the unit powers on, lights up and a voice begins to prompt you what to do. Unit was manufactured in 2004 so it is no longer under warranty. Enjoy!
