This is a fantastic original catalog from the Nichols and Shepard Company in Battle Creek. Michigan. It measures about 7 3/4 x 10 3/4 and has 64 pages. Both the front and back cover are in full color. The catalog is in excellent condition considering it's nearly a century old. It has some wear and blemishes and is missing pages 31-34 which were likely devoted to details of their threshing machines. This catalog shows all of the traction engines, features, attachments, configurations, and accessories for them. It also shows their various threshing machines and their very scarce gasoline prairie tractor. This is a VERY hard to find original catalog and would be a fine addition to your early agricultural advertising collection especially if you like Nichols and Shepard items or have one or the tractors! Old Original JI Case Eagle Watch Fob Steam Tractor Engine Thresher Hit Miss WOW
This is a real nice original and very hard to find watch fob from the JI Case Threshing Machine Company. It is an original and I believe it's from the early part of the 1900's and measures about 1 3/16 x 1 7/8 inches tall and is in excellent condition with minor overall wear and discoloration from it's years of service. It features"Old Abe" sitting on the globe with the company name on it. It is raised and is quite bold. I believe this is the first fob that the company used for their advertising. It came from the estate of an early steam thresherman and has been around the threshing rig for many years. I'd bet! This would be a great addition to your early Case memorabilia collection or display as it is very appealing to the eye! I don't think there's too many of these left to be found in original country ... moreestates anymore! It could be a long time before another one turns up and it likely won't be this nice! ~Antique Sterling Silver Thimble~ Waite-Thresher* Circa 1900s This beautiful antique sterling silver thimble features a deeply embossed backwards C against a chased background all around the thimble. It was made by Waite-Thresher and their logo of a Star is marked on the inside and the size(7) This thimble is featured on pg. 122(29) in American Silver Thimbles by Gay Ann Rogers. The condition is excellent. Almost in round with no holes, dents or any other damage. Small scratches and patina consistent with age. Please look at photos for condition of thimble. Lot of 3 Old Thimbles This lot includes three thimbles- see numbered photo. Thimble#1 is in good condition. Does not have a sterling marking and weighs 1.92 grams. It measures 5/8 inch tall and is a size 7. It is marked 7 with a manufacturers marking on the outside in the band. Thimble#2 is in good condition. Is marked sterling and weighs 1.74 grams. It measures 5/8 inch tall and is a size 7. There are no manufacturers marking on this thimble. Thimble#3 is marked sterling in the apex with the size 7 and also has a star hallmark. I am not sure if this is a Thomas F. Brogan or possibly the early Waite Thresher Co. marking? This thimble with the star marking is very out of round and dented on top. 1896 Original AW Stevens Son Steam Tractor Engine Thresher Price Book Catalog
This is a very hard to find original price list and catalog from the A.W. Stevens and Son Company in Auburn. New York. It is dated 1896 and measures about 3 3/8 x 5 3/4 inches and has 8 pages. It is in decent condition for being over 115 years old. It has a complete list of merchandise the company offered including steam traction and portable engines, threshers and accessories, water wagons, pumps, huskers, shellers stone feed mills and other items. It gives the price for each item, also. It would be a neat addition to your early agricultural literature collection especially if you have a Stevens steam engine! Ornate Antique Sterling Silver Thimble Waite-Thresher, Sz. 8 (#14)
This stunning antique thimble is really a little work of art. It was made by the Waite-Thresher Co. and is marked Sterling. With the number 8 and with the Waite-Thresher star in the apex with a little star at the very top on the outside. The design of the band is deeply detailed with scrolls or feathers and perhaps little berries with an un-monogrammed cartouche. The bottom edge of the thimble follows the shape of the design. Just gorgeous! The condition of the thimble is very nice with no holes. Dings or dents, but is slightly out of round in the opening. See last picture) It shows only normal signs of usage for a thimble of its age with no deep scratches. In Averil Mathis's book.
