This engraved thimble has a star on the inside. Stamped 10k, has the#10 in the bottom and weighs 3.1 grams. Quick research shows this item to be produced by the Waite Thresher Co. in Providence, Rhode island sometime between 1890 and 1920. The company was bought out by the Barker Manufacturing Co. and discontinued making thimbles in 1920s.

1908 HARRISON Machine Company Steam Tractor Engine Thresher Price List WOW
This is an extremely hard to find original 1908 price list of steam traction engines. Separators, and horse powers manufactured by the Harrison Machine Works in Belleville, Illinois. It is a 12 page brochure and measures about 3 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches. It has prices and details for all of their engines offered at the time from 10-16hp both portable and traction and also their new"Jumbo" engines in 15, 17, and the new 20hp which was not in their 1907 catalog. It also has"outfit" prices for combinations of threshers and engines. Included in the catalog is prices for horsepowers and extras. It is in good condition for being over 106 years old! It has some minor staining and wear but most things do at that age. It is a wealth of information and would be a great addition to your early steam or agricultural advertising collection ... moreand would look especially nice displayed with your engine at the shows. These early pieces hardly ever turn up as most lost their battle to the wood stove back in the day so don't miss your chance on it. This thimble is in good condition. Although I can see some holes in it. There is wear, scuffs and scratches from years of use. On the outside it has an etched swirl/wave design on the bottom edge. Very pretty. The inside is marked with an"Sterling" around a Star. from my research, it tells me this maker is"Waite, Thresher Co. and the size"10" below the star. Research on this mark tells me that the Waite. Thresher Co. was in business from 1884-c to 1928 before Simons Bros. took it over. In the later years, they put a thimble inside the star. Produced in the early 1900s by Waite. Thresher Co. of Rhode Island, this thimble is a version of a neoclassical motif with a gold band of leaves on a sterling thimble. It's marked inside the top with a thimble in a star, sterling, and 8 for the size. There are some scratches on the band but they only show with magnification. The bright spots are reflections of the light. It's in excellent condition, in round with no holes. Please do not pay until you receive and invoice. Up for your consideration is an antique sterling silver thimble made in Providence. Rhode Island by Waite Thresher Company Limited. Inside the top is marked with a thimble inside a star. This mark was used from around 1907-1927. The word'Sterling' and 11 are also marked. The thimble is in great shape, without dents or holes. Please refer to the pictures for design. 1890's Sterling Silver Waite Thresher Thimble With Diagonal & Sweet Grass Basket

This is a 1890's Sterling Silver Waite Thresher Thimble With Diagonal Lines Band And Small Sweet Grass Basket Holder. Around the top part of the band is plain but has four stamps. They are STERLING SILVER. size 10. And the trademark for Thresher Co. It is a small five pointed star. The bottom part of the band has Diagonal Lines. At the bottom is a rolled up rim. The thimble has no holes, but the opening is banged up with about three dings. It is 10/16" tall, and the diameter of the opening is 9/16" 15 mm) The thimble comes with a small Sweet Grass Basket. It is 1 1/4" tall, and 1" round. I only speak English. Import duties. Taxes, and charges are not including in the item price or shipping ... morecharges.
