This type of book is invaluable. I saved over $800.00 on a repair of a car I used to own by using a book like this. I was able to do my own repair instead of taking it to a dealership. ~VINTAGE 30s RED RIVER SPECIAL THRESHER FARM IMPLEMENT SALESMAN SAMPLE DISPLAY~ Up for bid is a very Rare and Complete 1930s Red River Special Thresher large Salesman Sample Display. I would venture to guess this is the only one. The Oliver Thresher was built from the early 1930s thru the 1950s when production ceased. This display appears to be Hand Fabricated. It is an amazing piece. It is made of Galvanized steel and wood. All the pulleys move and wheels roll. It is highly detailed including the fan that blew the grinded wheat stalk out of the chamber into a wagon. It is riveted and screwed together. The size of it is 56 inches long. 21 inches wide, 20 inches high with pipe down, and 36 inches high with pipe attached. There are traces of the red paint on the frame that it was originally painted. You can see the very worn Red River Special ... morename painted on the stalk exhaust pipe. There is some light surface rust from age. The metal is solid with no holes and the wood is not rotted. Looking for an appreciative home for a gorgeous charming early old Sterling Silver paneled etched floral scroll thimble by Waite Thresher circa late 1800's/ early 1900's(pre 1920's) This old piece was cherished for many decades in the Buffalo. Design on the outside rim is an alternating paneled punch/stamp design of floral scrolls within little triangular frames. The piece has a charming patina, that aids in the viewing of the design. Appears to have gold wash on the band. Zippo Lighter USS HOIST ARS-40 Commissioned: 21 July 1945 Decommissioned: 30 September 1994 Chrome Zippo Unused Mint w/ Box from U.S.S. Hoist(ARS 40) Made in 1992(A ZIPPO® VIII) USS Hoist(ARS-40) was a Bolster-class rescue and salvage ship acquired by the United States Navy during World War II. Her task was to come to the aid of stricken vessels. Searching for the Thresher From 29 May through 25 August 1964. Hoist operated with Trieste II at the site of the Thresher(SSN-593) tragedy. Next. Performing one of her many rescues, Hoist along with Seneca(ATF-92) and Windlass(ARS(D)4) Freed Blue Jacket(T-AF-51) Which had grounded 2 March 1965. Blue Jacket was pulled free in two days, saving her perishable cargo of frozen stores valued at $2,000,000. This item is an old Waite-Thresher(Providence. RI) sterling silver size 11 engraved sewing thimble, with the thimble in very good to excellent overall used condition. Thimble has some usage scratches, as one can see in the attached photos, but there are no other flaws. There are no perforations, when held to light there are no holes, and the thimble is not out of round, not dented, nor are there any other significant flaws. Marked STERLING with size No. 11 on the interior apex with the old Waite-Thresher 5-pointed star, as we have tried to show with the attached photos. The thimble weighs 4.0 grams on our jewelry scale. Jr. cacheted naval cover commemorating the commissioning of the USS Thresher SS-200, a TAMBOR-class submarine built by the Electric Boat Company at Groton, CT. The first Thresher(SS-200) was laid down on 27 April 1939 at Groton. Conn. by the Electric Boat Co. launched on 27 March 1940; sponsored by Mrs. Claude Jones; and commissioned on 21 August 1940. Lt. Comdr. William L. Anderson in command. Following training and sea trials. Thresher got underway from New London. Conn. on 25 October for engineering trials in Gravesend Bay. This auction I for a lovely 9K gold antique sewing thimble hallmarked with the classic Waite Thresher star on the inside of thimble top. It has no other markings. But I had it tested by a jeweler and it is 9K gold. It has no engraving on the band, and is ready for your monogram! It's only flaw is that it is a little off round.
