Old Chinese Pale Serpentine Demon Face Cup
Beautiful antique Chinese serpentine cup adorned with the image of a face with twisting horns and a protruding nose. Not sure of an exact date of origin. It has some age on it but I can't say with any certainty how much. In good condition despite the aging, with no cracks or serious damage. The cup measures 5" wide, 4" deep, and 2.75" tall. A note to silver scrappers: There are those on Ebay who will claim that the weight of an object is less than advertised and demand a rebate after the auction has ended. This is an ongoing trend and these individuals seem to complain if silver prices go down between the day they buy and the day they receive. When one melts silver one can lose as much as 5% of the weight in the smelting process and I can not be held responsible for weight lost after melting. I do not generally melt anything that is well made as it makes little sense to me. So any potential loss should be considered before purchasing my items. All my items are measured with a standard tape measure and are rounded off to the quarter inch. I attempt to be as accurate as possible. But odd surfaces can prove difficult sometimes as I lack a pair of calipers. With over a thousand items in my store. Errors do occur, albeit infrequently. Pair of Vintage Odd Fellows Sashes – Pale Yellow Velvet - Fraternal IOOF Drapery
2 pale yellow velvet sashes from an Odd Fellows lodge in Missouri. Perhaps ca. 1940’s? Each sash has applied pale green ribbon on the borders. One sash is made for right-hand drape. The other for left-hand drape. Each sash bears a small metal 3-ring Odd Fellows symbol. And each bears an attached dangly ornament; 1 depicting an hourglass, the other a bible. Each sash is approximately 41” long(not counting metal fringe) And the width is approx. 3.5” Both sashes have gold bullion/metal fringes at the bottom. Above the bullion. 1 of the 2 bears a pale yellow velvet rosette with 2 tassels. Please Note: In a couple of the pictures in this listing, the sheen of the velvet has caught my camera's flash and it looks almost as if the velvet is worn in patches. Not so. The velvet is intact. What you're seeing is simply the velvet's normal ... morenap. Each sash has a sewn-in label reading: The Henderson Ames Co. Kalamazoo. Mich. Both sashes are in good. Wearable condition. BEAUTIFUL VICTORIAN PALE PINK EMBROIDERED SHAWL.
For auction is a beautiful Victorian pure silk pale pink cover/piano shaw l hand embroidered all over with gorgeous silk flowers. It fits the top of a double bed easily with the tassels hanging over and measures 150 by 139 no including tassels. These measure 18cm each side, would look good on a bed, sofa, chair or table. None of the tassels are tangled. And it only needs a gentle iron, it has some creases, it been unused for many years. The condition is excellent. Lovely soft silk, it is very clean, no bad odours, no signs of rust, damp etc. The embroidered silk flowers are all excellent no loose or missing threads. No holes. Pretty vintage bracelet from J.J. White. Designer E. L. Weed, I believe it dates to the 1930's. The front features rectangluar light purple unfoiled rhinestone, and the bracelet itself is silver with gold accents. When closed, it measures about 2.5" across and it is about 3/4" wide. When closed, you can see in one of the photos, the bracelet is a little out of round. Otherwise, it is in good condition. It is marked Pat. 1933576 and a W inside a triangle on the inside back center. Nice flower, filigree and Maltese cross details. Closure mechanism works well. Thank you for looking.
