This piece of folk art is intricately painted with a detailed painting of sap gathering to make maple syrup. It is an original painting in the style of a Grandma Moses painting signed by"E Jennifer'81" The scene is of the gathering of the sap. There are four human figures and 4 oxen in the picture which goes all around the jug. The trees have the gathering buckets attached to them and there are men with the harnesses on their shoulders carrying buckets to the shack. The side of the shack is filled with wood to burn in the making of the maple syrup. It is a snowy scene with little evergreens among the Maple trees.There is smoke coming out of the shack. Their condition is mostly"good. None are terrible. But they've been nicked up from usage so I won't try and fool anyone by saying they're"excellent. The price is close to fair. I would say that if you're in the market for pristine taps, then you'll want to pass on this auction and buy new from a maple dealer. But if you have time to sit down in a chair and work on removing the tubing that's still on them then you'll keep yourself from having to pay for new taps. When this was NEW there was a foil hang tag that said Ye Old Bennington Jug- Pure Vermont Maple Sap Syrup 1 Pint Vermont Maple Orchards. This is a small stoneware crock with blue glaze. Unglazed bottom. On the bottom it says Vermont Flora 1949. There is NO hang tag with this. but at least it is marked on the bottom. Measures 3-1/2" tall x 2-1/2" across the base. Excellent condition.

Included in This Sale(Condition) 100 3.5 gallon food grade maple syrup sap buckets with lids(only used once- excellent condition) These buckets and lids were purchased one year ago from Sugar Bush Supplies in Mason. Michigan. The retail cost of the buckets and lids is $555.00(for 100) As can be seen in the pictures. We cut an opening near the top of each bucket, so they can be hung on Tree Saver(5/16" spiles(the spiles are NOT included in this sale, but are available at any maple syrup supplier) Each bucket will hold over 2.5 gallons of sap, before they will begin to overflow(through the spile opening) When we used the buckets last year, we attached the lids with wire ties to keep them from being blown off and so no debris could get into the sap. The lids can hinge from the wire ties to allow for easy dumping. These wire tires were removed ... morefrom all buckets when we cleaned them after the season, to allow for storage.
