Bronze stainless steel maple sap pump
I used this pump for several seasons to pump maple sap. I no longer need it. It is perfect to use with a 3-1/2 HP Briggs engine similar to the photo. Note: the base plate is included but the engine is NOT. The engine shown is for display purposes. I replaced the bearing so it is ready to use with your engine. I do not know the capacity of this. And what it will pump for gallons per minute is largely a function of your set up, but should pump anywhere from 10 GPM to possibly 25 GPM with the right HP and RPM. I would estimate it will generate about 25 PSI. It is 1-1/4" pipe thread. It will suck sap out of a barrel if you prime it. Approximately 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" The Golden Age of postcards. Marked by the"divided back" began on March 1, 1907 with the enactment of a new law by Congress. This law, for the first time, made it legal to pen a message on the reverse side of a postcard. The address was to be written on the right side of the reverse while the left side was reserved for writing messages. With the passage of this new law, the postcard hobby became a public addiction in America. Publishers printed millions of cards in this era, most ... morebeing printed in Germany, the world leader in lithographic processes at the time. At the height of this country wide mania. This is an old label from Mount Washington Brand Maple Sap Syrup. It was produced for the Bay State Maple Syrup Company of Boston. Massachusetts. There is a reference to the Mount Washington Brand to at least as far back as 1912. The date of the label is unknown and I would think it was unused being in such good condition. I didn't measure so if interested let me know. It probably is the typical size of a label on a similar product now. As you probably know the Native Americans showed the Europeans how to bleed the maple trees of their sap. I don't know the exact process but there is a lot of cooking and it takes about 20 gallons of sap to make a gallon of maple syrup. The lighter the color of the syrup, generally the higher the cost although many people claim the darker syrups taste the best. Regardless, pure maple syrup is very ... moreexpensive but most supermarkets carry at least one brand. I remember"Vermont Maid, was 15% maple syrup and now I think there is no maple syrup in their"breakfast syrup. The low percentages forced companies to change from using maple syrup if it contained none or very little. The White Mountains are in NH and the Green Mountains are in Vermont. The green because of trees and white because there are few or no trees. People out West generally don't know how rugged these mountains are. Mount Washington is only about 6000+ feet above sea level but it has fierce winds and often is 50 or more degrees lower in temperature than at the base. Quebec Province produces 75% of the world's supply but Vermont is by far the largest producer of maple syrup of all the American states. The label is in very good condition. Please ask questions if there is an interest. The colors of the label are very vivid and perhaps the label has been in this plastic covering for many years. Incidentally, the native Americans fables and methods are quite interesting to read as is the history of maple syrup that I could find.
