Vintage US paratrooper helmet with liner, camo cover & suspension system
This is an old US helmet with liner. Suspension system and camo cover. The helmet is in very good shape with no dents but there are scuffs and scratches. The helmet has a rear seam and swivel style bales. The liner is also in good shape with no cracks and includes the attached suspension system. The standard chin strap is included but the paratrooper center strap is missing. The reversible camo cover is in good shape except for a tear by the strap hole(see photos)This could be Korea era but I don't know how to tell the difference. It has a brown and black striped liner with suspension; the suspension has an extra strap attached that appears to be for the back of the head. No markings found on the helmet. The liner is marked: Soldier's steel helmet liner. M-1(Infantry) June'66. Unless otherwise indicated above or in images. No markings were found. Measurements In inches: Approx 28 around the inside Condition The helmet has scratches. Paint loss, some rust. The inside of the edging has a few minor warp spots. This Parade Liner was surplussed from a Government Agency and was used in a youth boot camp setting. It has been repainted at least once as far as I can tell. But has some nicks in the paint. The strapping is in nice shape and overall this Liner is in pretty good shape! It does not appear to have been abused by any means. I know next to nothing about dating this piece of equipment. vintage? green hard hat miner's? helmet with 6 point suspension liner
pre-owned. any white areas you see on the hat is reflection from my camera shot. not sure if vintage but I don't think anything recent. no brand identification that I can see. not sure what hat is made of but not metal. looks like 6 point suspension liner with metal clips& light leather head band. the leather band is dry& is disconnected& needs to be clipped together where the head adjustment holes are on the band. the clip is missing. a little piece of thin leather around one of the suspension clip bands is broken off. it doesn't look to me like it is hurting anything being missing. the suspension liner itself is totally made out of leather& cloth materials not plastic. not sure of hat size but inside rim of hat not counting the brim measures 7 1/2 by 9 inches. the hat has 2 tiny holes that look exactly alike half ... moreway down on one side of it& 4 inches apart. not sure if they are supposed to be there for aeration or not. still looks like functionally the hat is fine. very gentle wear on the outside of the hat with no dings. inside brim of hat has a VERY VERY faint name written on the inside of it. you can't even make out the letters. you may even be able to remove the residual with a good cleaner but its very negligible. MSA yellow V-Gard miner's hard hat helmet protective cap with suspension liner
pre-owned MSA hard hat in general average good used condition. the hat has some light cosmetic wear on the outside of it& a tiny 1/4 inch or so indent mark on the top of it. nothing that would detract from its look or its functionality. comes with its suspension liner inside. the thin cloth or foam lining on the inside backside of the brim of the liner is no longer there. if that matters to you then you may need to get a replacement liner. the rubber part of the liner that would be against your forehead seems to be ok if you want to make due with it as it is. label inside says'adjustable head size 6 1/2 to 7 3/4. the hat is clean. not sure what it is made of but not metal. if you have any questions at all please email me before you bid& buy as i'm not an authority on hard hats. pre-owned E.D. Bullard hard boiled hard hat helmet in overall general good used condition. comes with its suspension liner inside. the hat is clean. the outside of the hat has some light wear with some light scratches& a couple of small what I consider negligible marks on it. nothing nasty& nothing very noticeable. it looks like functionally it would protect your head. has the original'hard boiled' tag still inside it. label says adjustable size 6 1/2 to 7 5/8. actual suspension liner starts off with 6 1/2& ends with 8. not sure what the hat is made of but its not metal. the liner fits into all the slats inside the hat. looks like a leather brim. the liner brim part has 2 plastic tabs which I have no idea what they are for. if you know please email me. because I don't collect hard hats I am selling this hat more for ... moreits functionality than its collectability so if you are a collector& have questions please email me with your concerns. overall it looks like a nice hard hat. light green in color. Used Suspension Liner for Model 502 Ed Bullard Fiberglass or Aluminum Hard Hat
Up for auction is this gently used suspension liner. It is compatible for an Ed Bullard model 502 fiberglass or aluminum hard hat. The clips. Straps, and head band are structurally sound. However, the straps have some staining due to usage. Perhaps they could be cleaned up better. HARD BOILED" and"E.D. BULLARD CO. S.F.USA" is stamped into the head band. The suspension can be adjusted from size 7 to 7 and 3/4. There is some faint writing on the inside of the head band but I can't make it out. Perhaps it is the name of the previous owner? The shell is sturdy with no cracks or chips. The original paint is still present, it is the crappy early war paint which adhered poorly so paint chipping and flaking are present throughout. The only marking we see is on the inside of the bill which says“Apex” Inside the helmet is a suspension liner with a leather look headband. The liner doesn’t have any cracks and is still pliable. M1 Helmet Liner-Early 1970s Dates Original early production version of the M1 helmet liner with removeable suspension. Features as follows: Shell: Thick reinforced nylon construction with stainless steel studs for suspension attachment and retains approx. 90% original textured OD green paint. Never been repainted. No cracks or other damage. FY dated 30 Sept 1971 with 1972 dated contract number stamped inside shell. Suspension: Dark OD green cotton webbing with stainless steel clips for attaching inside liner. Contract markings are faint but can make out 1972 dated contract number. No fraying or other damage. Neck band: Standard three point cotton webbing neck band. Markings are hard to read but has DSA contract number. Light fading but undamaged. Sweat band: Standard issue type mfg by STEINBERG BROS. INC. and dated 1973. This would become ... morethe final version of the M1 liner which was used into the mid-1980s. I've had hundreds of these over the years. But this is the earliest dated example I've ever seen. EARLY TYPE 5 INLAND LINER W/ COTTON SUSPENSION & TWIN SNAP FASTENERS
This is a Type 5 M-1 helmet liner manufactured by Inland between fall 1942 and early 1943. This is a transitional liner made when the factories were migrating from installing rayon suspension with twin snap fasteners for the sweatband to the new cotton suspension without any snaps. However. In this case Inland intended that the rayon sweatband be installed even though the liner has cotton suspension- hence the need for twin snaps in the liner's suspension. The liner has the zinc-coated A-washers and the folded back nape strap. The outside of the liner appears to have had an overcoat of white paint at one time. It also has the numbers"105" painted on both sides. I accept PayPal.
